theres nothing more fun than running the option in NCAA Football 2009

Any NCAA Football game.

Me and a couple buddies used to make a bracket of all 116 or whatever many teams there were and play it out. I won it one year with Iowa running a hurry up option with Brad Banks.

Pretty sure somebody already talked about this, but there's a chance Mizzou could win the Big 12 championship and still not play in a BCS bowl. I'm not sure how exactly it would go down, but let's say two Big 12 Teams end up ranking 1 and 2 in the final BCS poll, then even if Mizzou won the Big 12 title game, they'd be screwed again out of a BCS Bowl. Chances are low that Mizzou would win the Championship game, but that would be soooooo typical for Mizzou if this scenario did happen.
As others have pointed out, that scenario is impossible. A BCS conference champion gets an AUTOMATIC bid, and the top two teams in the final BCS poll get AUTOMATIC bids. So in the theoretically possible, but highly unlikely, situation where two teams from the same conference are 1-2 in the final BCS standings, but a third team wins that conference championship, all three teams are in. That's the one and only exception to the maximum two teams from a conference rule.

It won't matter because Missouri won't be winning the Big 12 title game.

According to sources, the reason that Mike Haywood is MIA again this week, leaving Charlie to call plays against the Cuse, is that he's interviewing for the vacant Washington job.

I find it very hard to believe the Huskies would hire another ND coach under a lot of heat, but I didn't think they'd be dumb enough to give Ty a fourth year either.

Snow on the ground. Wind blowing. 20 degrees out. Hopefully we beat MSU and the weather won't bother me anymore.

you just need to get tanked before you go

The last time the wind was blowing and it was 20 or so degrees...

Bad news Meph. Cameron Newton, the backup to Florida fans' hero, has been arrested and suspended from the team on felony counts of burglary, larceny and obstruction of justice. He apparently stole a student's laptop.

What I'm trying to figure out is Florida probably would have been more than happy to either buy Newton a laptop or two or give him the money for it (surprised they didn't give him enough in the signing bonus when they signed him). Why steal one?

I can't believe a win today by Tennessee would be an upset. We're playing Vanderbilt.

And still nothing on the coaching search (other than Brian Kelly and Mike Leach tend to be the frontrunners). Please hire Mike Leach.

does Tennessee have the players to run a Mike Leach offense?

We've got the receivers (Gerald Jones and Ahmad Paige) and the running backs (Montario Hardesty and Lennon Creer).

The offensive line isn't very good, though, and the quarterbacks suck. That said, five-star recruit Tajh Boyd has committed to Tennessee and hopefully he'll be able to actually complete passes.

I think the players can run it, though it wouldn't be nearly as effective next season as it is with Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree spearheading it. The frustrating thing with this offense is that there's good talent on the team, they're just not performing.
