wow that was a bad spot

 

All it did was make up for an offsides the refs didn't call on CMU on that play. One of the CMU d-linemen was over the line when the ball was snapped. It should have been a five-yard penalty.

 

I'm not crazy about the call, though it shows Brady Hoke has guts.

Yeah, it worked but if they're a couple of inches shorter they're probably down two touchdowns right now! Makes for good TV though and I'm pulling for BS as I grew up not far from there...

Yeah, it worked but if they're a couple of inches shorter they're probably down two touchdowns right now! Makes for good TV though and I'm pulling for BS as I grew up not far from there...

 

CMU kicker pulls a 37 yard field goal attempt wide left. Score stays 17 all.

Not sure, but I think this win clinched the MAC conference championship for Ball State. So it's a little bit of a big deal.

Well 1. it wasn't even their home field and 2. they still havent clinched their division, let alone the conference. they still play W. Michigan next week, who is 6-1 in the MAC

They haven't clinched yet. They still need to beat Western Michigan next week to win the MAC West outright. If they lose and Central Michigan wins their game next week Ball State, Central Michigan, and Western Michigan will all be tied with one conference loss. And since they's all be 1-1 against each other I'm not sure how the tie would be broken.

Looks like it'll be Central Michigan in the title game. You go all the way to the 4th tiebreaker to determine that.

Whoever your 7th bowl team is since that's who would go. Right now Minnesota and Illinois are tied for 6th. If someone wants to state a case that they'd kill us, be my guest. (Keeping in mind a much better Illinois team beat a much worse Ball State team by 11 last year.)

If Illinois wins and OSU and PSU go BCS, they'll be playing in Detroit. I don't think Ball St. creams any Big Ten bowl team. The lesser Big Ten teams certainly wouldn't kill Ball St. either, but I wouldn't be stunned to see Illinois, Minnesota, or Wisconsin beat them. I think Minnesota is the worst of the bunch, and Ball St. would be able to handle them. Illinois and Wisconsin I'd call a coin flip.

 

Tossing out stuff like BSU only losing by 11 last year to Illinois is a pretty worthless stat. It's just as easy to say Purdue beat CMU by the same amount BSU did this year.
