Washington at Washington State (3 pm, FSN/CSN)

Yesssssss, most exciting Apple Cup ever.

Washington last won a game a year ago today. Washington State's only win this year was against a non-1A opponent.

I might be going to the Illinois-Northwestern game. I'm sure that's going to be fun to watch (lol). What an awful season.

SIU tries to win the MVC for the first time in a few years as they can win the conference with a win over Illinois St. on Saturday. We'd still get a spot in the playoffs even if we were to lose, but if we win, we'd get the auto-bid and we'd get at least the first round game in the playoffs at home. I can't believe we're 8-2 right now after we lost Kill to NIU.

I've been nervous about the Central game since about 10 minutes after last week's game ended. Everything great that's happened the last two and a half months is made moot if CMU beats us - them winning would clinch a MAC West title for them and relegate us to possibly another trip to Toronto and the International Bowl. Dan LeFevour is gimpy but he still terrifies me.

Notre Dame/Cuse is pretty irrelevant. We'll probably win, we'll probably play like crap doing it, and I probably won't be happy about any of it. The win will lock up a probable trip to the Sun Bowl although the Gator is a possibility if Pitt loses 2 of their last 3 games.

MSU vs. PSU is the unofficial Big Ten title game; PSU clinches a Rose Bowl with a win, while MSU clinches a co-championship with OSU (assuming they beat UM), though the Buckeyes would go to the Rose Bowl in that scenario

two changes - holy cross vs colgate can be labeled as "patriot league championship game", and washington vs washington st must be added to "other games of interest"

I am definitely tuning in to the Apple Cup for the sheer entertainment and hilarity.

Both games now have their own label.

Quit posting and make it get humid or rainy in LA, damnit. This is horrible.

Rich Rod this is your chance to make amends for this season. Its not realistic but crazy things have happenend in this game before. Ahhh it will still be fun. Comments about this is the only thing that matters for these 2 schools is way overplayed....except for this weekend for Michigan, this is the first time ive bought into that talk.

PSU better it get it done. If Ohio State goes to the Rose Bowl AND plays Oregon State i will all kinds of pissed off.

Arkansas should smash Mississippi State, but they'll probably play them close and/or lose. If they do win in a blowout, though...I wonder if LSU has fallen off enough that the Hogs could in the boot two years straight? Not likely, but it would be awesome.

Has anyone sat and compiled Percy Harvin's rushing numbers for his career?

No, but then, most of us are fine with keeping the balls on the field

my roommate is a michigan grad and he keeps pointing to that year as hope that michigan can win, but that team was still 7-4 going into that game, finished 9-4 and ranked in the top 20, and had several guys who went on to become good nfl players - brian griese, biakabatuka, jon jansen, jon runyan, amani toomer, charles woodson. most importantly, they had a very good quarterback. this team has friggin nick sheridan, who shouldn't be starting for a bcs school, and they're 3-8. forget the fact that it's michigan-ohio state; it's just a bad team on the road playing a good team. no contest.

I wonder how Texas fans feel pulling for OU this weekend...

my friend was telling me that stoops is 60-2 at home since he took over there? i know that the texas game (usually the hardest big xii game) is always neutral field, but still.... wow.

Yep, Stoops has only lost twice at home since he took over. Last time was 2005 to TCU. He hasn't lost a conference home game since 2001.

Now that I've said all this, OU will probably lose Saturday night.

Having seen both teams win at IU, Ball State is definitely better. Of course, LeFevour didn't play that game -- testament to the futility of a Bill Lynch led team -- but the overall talent still seems to favor Ball State from my view.
