Javier Estopinan put the Gators up 56-6. Estopinan was supposed to be a great defensive lineman, however he's a RS SR who has barely played any thanks to three ACL tears and recoveries. Good story kinda of guy. They let him score a TD. He's up for the Sportsmanship Award

"Schematic advantage" just becomes funnier and funnier with every passing week of Notre Dame football.

Notre Dame was just the recipient of two awful calls at the end of the first half. First, Tate caught a pass, was wrapped up near the sideline and clearly threw the ball out of bounds. They gave him credit for the fumble and stopped the clock.

 

Then Claussen heaves a deep pass and Tate pushes the corner right in the back with two hands. No call. And they needed all of that to take the lead against Syracuse. 2-8 Syracuse. At home.

 

Gotta get them into a nice bowl game, right?

Bill Lynch is terrible. I started a rant when he was hired last year, because the result was so obvious (especially to the school that hired another incompetent interim under similar circumstances). A 52-point loss to a now 4-8 (2-6) Purdue team and a final record of 3-9 (1-7). You stink Lynch.

That 'push' wasn't blatant and I wouldn't expect it called against the opponent either. And it took exactly one half of football since the ludicrous Navy game for fans to stop the moratorium on the "refs favor Notre Dame" crock of BS.

 

Tate just had a possible TD not overturned on review, but you won't post about that, I'm sure.

 

Oh, and Notre Dame sucks. I can't envision a scenario in which we beat USC with Charlie Weis as coach.

28-0 Penn State? MSU is even further below the two good Big Ten teams than I thought they were.

 

10-0 Washington in the "Two Girls, One" Apple Cup. A UW player just lined up in the neutral zone on a 3rd and 1. Didn't matter because WSU got 5 or 6 yards, but my lord.

SIU won the MVC today, but boy it was close. We took a 10-3 lead with 1:05 left, but ISU drove right down the field to tie the game up to send it to OT. In OT, we converted on a 3rd and 14 play from the 29 for a touchdown. Then on 4th and 1 at the 2, the defense held ISU and got the stop and the conference title. We've definitely had our share of close, nail-biting games this season. Hopefully that pays some dividends once the playoffs start next week.

I really wish the Big Ten had a title game this year. That would help PSU a lot. As it stands now, it's Rose Bowl all the way without some combo of Florida losing to FSU (then beating Bama) and Mizzou winning the Big XII championship game
