you mean the outrage at hendry for not signing him to a one year deal?

the general sentiment of "Wood said he'd take a one year deal and Hendry spit on his mom"

Another mention of it-

Though Wood told Chicago reporters he was willing to return to the Cubs for a one-year deal, he never conveyed that message to the Cubs. And Wood and Hendry have had a tight relationship through the years, so that message would have been conveyed.

Could have put it to the test if you offered the guy arb

According to MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince, the Indians appear closer to a two-year deal with Kerry Wood. The deal may contain a third-year option.

I won't mind rooting for Wood on the Indians.

At least it's an AL team. :(

One that routinely plays against the White Sox.

And one that comes to Wrigley Field from June 19-21.

How weird would that be?

Woody's about to go from one team with the longest WS drought to the team with the second-longest WS drought.

And I wouldn't mind him going to the Indians either.

He'd get a standing ovation the first time he took the mound.

That will last the duration of his appearance. At least I'd keep cheering for him.

Really happy to see Kerry getting a shot somewhere for a significantly more about of money. Also glad he's in the AL so I can root for him, and he won't come back to bite us in the ass.

According to Steve Phillips, it would be 2 years, 12-14 million. Really? We can't pay that? Skip the Peavy garbage, re-sign Woody, sign Bradley and call it a day.

Umm...I like Woody as much as anyone, but I would much prefer the "Peavy garbage" to bringing back Kerry.

Looks like Hendry made the right move by not offering arbitration.

LAS VEGAS — With two teams to pick from in the American League Central, Kerry Wood appears to have rejected overtures from Detroit to take a deal with Cleveland.

Wood's decision to sign with the Indians followed closely Francisco Rodriguez's agreement with the New York Mets. Rodriguez's three-year deal, which is expected to be announced after he passes a physical, narrowed down Wood's choices.

The deal is believed to be two years with a vesting option for a third. Money terms remain unclear.

Wood fills a hole Cleveland has had at the back of its bullpen since the breakdown of Joe Borowski, a former teammate of Wood's with the Cubs. It allows Jensen Lewis to remain in a set-up role.

Um yeah, skip that one of the best pitchers in baseball garbage to sign a guy who will undoubtably get hurt next year while we have a better closer in waiting. Yeah, ](*,)

It's gonna be really strange seeing Woody in an Indians uniform, but I'm not the least bit upset with this. The Indians are a good team for Woody to play for. Best of luck.

Yeah, this is pretty much best-case scenario

good, likable team in a division with a hated (somewhat) rival

Obviously Peavy is far more valuable than Wood. But 2/12M? Are you kidding me? 2/12 for Kerry Wood and Jose Ceda or 1/5 for Kevin Gregg. That's why you don't brashly shut the door in a guy's face before you have a chance to see what the market actually is.

I would be surprised if Wood only gets 2y at 12m. He made over 7m last year, so I think he will get at least 8m a year with incentives. It will be interesting to see how much Wood actually gets, because Steve Phillips isn't a very good source.
