Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd win this game by 34 points. Both our offense and defense were sensational today. AJ Hawk as the MLB was really impressive to watch today. Perhaps we should've listened to Aikman and tried that sooner while playing Barnett at the weak-side LB position.

And why are people complaining about their team's records since they were alive? Everyone outside of Chicago would've thought that you were crazy if you even considered the Bears were to have a .500 record after the 10th game of the regular season. All I know is that it's going to be a fun final month and a half in the regular season.

Disagree, its going to be a horrible slaughter for the Bears, starting next week when - mark my words - we fall to St. Louis.

At this point Id have no problem with finishing 5-11 if it meant some changes would occur because of it. However Id be shocked if they actually made changes.

Wow............what a disturbing game.

No way is the Packers a 34 point win better then the Bears. It looks to me the Bears didn't seem to care.

This Bengals/Eagles game is setting football back a few decades.

Shayne Graham just missed a 47 yard field goal in OT with 7 seconds left on the clock. Looks like we're headed for a 13-13 tie.

haha.

Mike Brown said that basically the Bears players need to come to grips that they aren't a very good defense.

How do they explain what happened to day as far as giving yards up on the ground. The packers have been terrible running the ball while the bears have been great. The pack had 200 yards rushing on 38 plays (5.3 per play, the Bears were like around 3.5 and #1 in 'stuffs'), it wasnt like the Minnesota game where AP got 53 on 1 play....they got beat consistantly today. Things don't add up.

Last weeks comment from Lovie about 'the players believe in the scheme' really iritated me. And after reading some of Tommie's and Vashers comments after last weeks game i dont totally believe that. Why would he say that anyway, he basically told the players to not question things because he said they are all 'bought in'.

Offense sucked i'll say that but the defense was just as awful. This defense was supposed to be good enough to win games. When have they won a game yet.

I don't think so. St. Louis is a BAD team. The Bears are a mediocre team, no question. But the Rams are absolutely terrible. Getting hammered for the second week in a row. They have totally given up.

I don't think they have put a game on their shoulders yet. And they might not the entire year.

To answer your question at least partially, I feel like the Bears have been selling out on D to stop the run all year long. They've been showing that "mug up" look all year, and keeping a safety in the box. Today they didn't do that because they couldn't. Too many receiving options for the Packers. So the Packers just decided to run it, and it worked beautifully.

Mike Brown is right, we just aren't a very good defense anymore. What hurts me as a Bear fan is, I don't think we have a good DC, and I don't think the Lovie system is really working anymore. Every week just proves this to me even more. With little hope for improvements, I find myself hoping Lovie is let go more & more. What else can I do? I don't see the players suddenly "cluing back in" to his program, and I don't see his coordinators as capable of making adjustments.

I wonder if this is a subtle jab at Babich? :-k

I bet I could have not read the last 17 pages and guessed that Sulley would be whining.

But I read it and it was way more awesome.

Good to see Harris man up after all his comments whining about the media and the fans as well as how he didn't choose to be here, he was drafted here even after signing that contract. Wait, he declined to speak to the media after his and the defense's miserable performance. What a punk bitch, even with the cap hit, I'm looking forward to when they drop his ass. He took the money and ran (well, if he could run he would). Edited by UK

Ping, I'd seriously consider two OLs on day one. There are always a few 2nd - 3rd round guards that look good (Duke Robinson, Herman Johnson come to mind right now).

Agreed. I'd also look at WR early.

Another rant...

Is Earl Bennett worse than Davis, Booker, Hester, Lloyd, or the two TE they have lined up at WR?

This WR group is awful and Bennett (a 3rd rd pick) can't see the field.

Lovie doesn't like to put new people into the system. Williams can't get a sniff. Beekman couldn't last year even after there were plenty of people hurt and the Bears were out of the playoffs. He could have used the experience. Vasher played hurt when the season was over last year. Lovie is too loyal.

The 'mug look'. I was in and out today but yeah from what i saw it didnt look like they were in it all that much. I don't think that has hurt them in the passing game, more of combination of lack of pressure and zone coverage. But lets assume that was the reason they were good at the run and maybe it was. Why didnt they go back to that look after seeing they were gashed? Because the Bears defense doesnt make any in game adjustments, its the game plan baby. Hell ive seen Turner make more in game adjustments than the defense has ever made.

Yeah, WTF with Tommies comments, like P said, he resigned, why resign if you dont like it here. Dude is so emotional and sensitive. Phenom talent, im not ready to give up yet though. Briggs got paid and he is playing like a bad ass, he needs to jack tommie upside his stupid face.

Mike Brown BLEW people up. F.

The Bears are 5-5 and im really pissed off at this defense. Going into this year i would be satisfied, not happy with this record, but man the last 4 weeks games have been ishy performace wise.

some people picked the eagles in survival football.

Well they didn't lose. So what happens to those that picked the Eagles?

All of the suicide pools I've been in had ties going down as a loss. But, it's up to each organizer to decide those rules before they collect people's money.

I was actually glad FOX took that game off my tv. I had seen enough. A person shouldn't have to get that worked up over a stupid game.

I don't even care if they make the playoffs at this point. They proved today that they really aren't a very good football team.

Experiencing it in real time wasn't nearly as awesome.

I'm not happy with that either...especially when Lloyd was hurt.

I think I would be just fine with cutting Vasher. That can't be too bad a cap hit can it? He's either hurt, or not 100% because of prior injury, or he's getting juked out of his shoes yet again. He never blows up plays anymore and from what I'm seeing, he simply can't cover anymore.

I'd dump him, first reasonable opportunity.
