1:34pm: No agreement, says Yahoo's Tim Brown, but "some movement" in talks with the Braves. Brown's source also says the Cubs' offer was much better than reported.

 

Let's talk about this line, it has me wanting a bit more...

 

Is this a fact that should be encouraging cubs fans or discouraging. On the one hand, having the better offer equals good; but, the way it's stated here, almost like a throwaway line, seems to say "Cubs' offer is better, not that it matters anymore."

 

Anyone elses thoughts?

I do get that, in fact, and actually appreciate you even taking that step. I just felt -- maybe wrongly -- that some people thought anything definitive would come from it.

 

I for one have very little doubt that you're telling the truth. My doubts come from your source's source, and then the difficulties of a deal actually going down the way it is rumored to.
