Is there any reports that the Cubs have finalized their playoff roster for the upcoming playoffs?

I have looked around, and I haven't had much luck, so some assistance would be nice. I know there's the "unofficial" bullpen thread, but I wasn't sure if that also includes the roster. If it hasn't been announced, then my apologies.

Lou was suppose to meet with Hendry this morning to finalize the roster. Nothing new has come out since. At least not that I've seen.

That makes sense. I do wonder what's the deadline for all teams to submit their rosters to MLB....

I think you don't need to officially submit it until the day of the first game, just in case of any weird injuries and what not. I could be wrong though. I would guess it will be

Noteable players that get left off would be Wuertz, Guzman, Pie, Gaudin. All three of those pitchers should be on the roster in front of Howry but I doubt they will be.

Source from Chicago Tribune article this morning...

Angel Guzman, Chad Gaudin, Neal Cotts and Kevin Hart combined to pitch six scoreless innings, but Michael Wuertz walked in the tying run in the seventh, and Braun went deep on Howry in the eighth to put the Brewers ahead. Howry is on the playoff roster, which Piniella will unveil Tuesday.

I would've preferred to have Pie over Ward.

Im guessing Pie is on. Hes a big asset as a defensive replacement/pinch runner. the last spot will be between Ward and Hoffpauir, probably Ward.

As for Howry, there 1 guy in Chicago who trusts him, and unfortunately, he happens to be the guy who decides the rosters.

Would like for someone to ask Lou straight up on why Howry deserves a spot? I'm just only looking for an honest answer here, especially when it has been established that he's not worthy of that final spot.

Veteran arm.

Been there before.

Knows how to pitch under pressure.

Proven track record.

(Assorted garbage)

I think he has said it... he feels that Howry is the one to give "experience and leadership" to the bullpen. Never mind that he's terrible.

I think the only thing Howry brings is gasoline to a fire. I sure don't want him on the postseason roster.

Hoff was at the rally, I'd imagine he's on.

Hmm...is it safe to assume Hoff and Ward = no Pie?

It would be really stupid to have 2 lefty power bats off the bench that play the same position (poorly). 99% of the time, theres not 2 different spots in a game to have a left handed power bat pinch hit.

I agree, but I assume Ward is on the roster just like Howry is.

Any chance they take only 10 pitchers and Hoff, Ward, and Pie all make it? Considering they are bringing 5 starters, Marshall, Cotts, Samardzija, Marmol, and Wood. If those 10 can't get it done by pitching 45 solid innings of baseball (plus maybe a few extra innings), we aren't winning.

The Cubs' playoff roster will be officially announced Wednesday, but the team was expected to keep outfielder Felix Pie on the roster. Pitchers Kevin Hart and Michael Wuertz, outfielder Micah Hoffpauir and catcher Koyie Hill were to go to Mesa, Ariz., to workout at the Cubs' facility as sort of a taxi squad in case they're needed. Infielder Casey McGehee and pitchers Chad Gaudin and Angel Guzman were expected to be sent home.
