but the panthers are one of our easier games on the schedule

Completely disagree. Road game against a team that went into SD last week and won. That's tough. Carolina sucked last year, but they are decent at least. And there's no such thing as an easy win on the road at a decent NFL team, not to mention with 100 degree temps.

Ok Ok....I'm not saying they r not decent...I just think the bears have a hard schedule as is and I think alot of those other games although there at home are going to be harder (jags, NO, Eagles, Titans) I guess will see what happens against TB. I think we played a punch less and rusty Colts team the first game. Tampa is better or at least as good as the Panthers. So lets see what happens this game to really get a good idea about our defense and o-line.

Yeah, I agree with the sentiment that this is a must-win game if the Bears want to do anything this year. This is a team that is very similar to the Bears with the same type of talent level. Being at home should propel the Bears to win. I don't expect them to beat Philly, so this Sunday's game could be the difference between 2-2 and 1-3, which is huge. At 2-2 with road games against Detroit and Atlanta, the Bears have a legit shot to be 4-2 and right in the NFC race after week 6.

I felt the O-Line gave Orton the necessary time to get passes off, but Orton screwed the pooch one too many times.

And if Tampa doesn't want Jeff Garcia, the Bears should ask about the availability of his services. Garcia is way better than anything we have right now.

A half way decent qb that can hit someone for 15+ yards more than once per 12 attempts would be welcomed with open arms.

Apparently Garcia really is on the out in Tampa:

Gruden's been denying it, but it's starting to look kind of obvious. I wonder how long it would take to get him up to speed.

I'd snatch him up if possible if I were Angelo. Release Rex. I would think Minnesota would also be in the market for Garcia.

Minnesota would be pretty scary if they got him.

Minnesota is hung up on Jackson.

Hester was supposed to have an MRI, but internal bleeding (yes, from a non-contact injury) will push that back a day or two.

That can't be good

If there team had a QB who could actually throw the ball or at least complete some passes they'd be about 5X as good as they have been so far this year.

I'm gonna be a rebel and post a whole article since it's so short...

Devin Hester was at Halas Hall awaiting results from the MRI he underwent in Tuesday morning, a source said.

The rib injury sustained by the Bears Pro Bowl returner (and budding wide receiver) was believed to be either a pull or a tear; nothing appears to be broken.

It remains unclear whether Hester will miss any time. A source indicated Monday that Hester is expected to be healthy.

Hester suffered the non-contact injury while returning a kick in Sunday's game at Carolina. He was first scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, but the team wanted to wait for the swelling to subside.

It is too early to determine whether Hester will be available for Sunday's home opener against Tampa Bay. The Bears will face Bucs starter Brian Griese, their leading passer from a year ago.

Go Bucs. I doubt they'll win, but maybe.

To hell with you.

ok

Just joking around

You have to be careful with B, he has no sense of humor and hates pretty much all of the people who live in the south.

McGowan is done for the season with ankle surgery. That means Danieal Manning will get time at nickel.

Wow, sucks for McGowan. Steltz has a chance to play a bigger role now, though. Wasn't Danieal originally the starting nickelback? Why did he stop getting the PT there?

Thank God, McGowan is probably my least favorite Bear. He has been garbage since he has gotten here. Remember that Steve Smith playoff game? Well, that was Brandon McGowan chasing him around on a few of those long plays. That was his rookie season and he's sucked since. Makes a ton of penalties on special teams and generally sucks as a DB. To think they traded Chris Harris because they were confident in Adam Archuleta and Brandon McGowan is ridiculous. Terrible decisions by Lovie and Jerry.

He lost the starting job in TC/preseason.

Although to be fair, from what I've seen McGowan hasn't been all that much better. I think it's a wash for the Bears, neither player is particularly impressive.

McGowan was very good on ST though.
