Looks like Texas could have lost their TE for the season. Any time the knee begins to bend forward it looks really bad.

Still beat a decent Rice team 52-10.

What a great signature victory for Ball State. 42-20, shutting out IU for the second half, both our front lines shoving IU around all while our top playmaker lay in a hospital bed with Lord knows what's wrong. And there's no one left on the schedule that should be able to touch the Cardinals until the penultimate game of the season in Mt. Pleasant against Central Michigan. Should get a lot more than one vote in the AP poll next week.

beating indiana is a signature victory?

The same thought just crossed my mind. But I do believe it is the first time Ball State has ever beaten a BCS conference school. I would say this - for the BSU fans, it is a huge win for them. Again, they beat a BCS school finally (albeit a crappy one) and they owed us one from the game we stole in Muncie two years ago.

But on a national level, nobody is going to look at it as a signature win. They already had Top 25 votes before this week so they aren't completely under the radar. It won't look like nearly as good a win when IU completely tanks the entire Big Ten season and finishes with 3 or 4 wins.

yeah a bad team is a bad team, regardless of what conference they're in. every non-bcs conference in the country has at least one team that is better than indiana, hell the mountain west has four of them.

ISU just put the Cubs fake rallying skills to shame. Totally outplayed and down 21-0 at half, come all the way back including a 98 yard TD drive with 1:34 and 1 TO remaining, and lose by 34-31 in OT on a TD pass on UNLV's first play. Not that they really deserved to win when they were outgained by 148, but **** that sucks.

In fairness, it wasn't apparent that Indiana was a bad team until tonight. I actually had hope for this season........now, not so much. :banghead:

if the Ohio State game was at home, I think Penn State would have a good shot at winning. They still might.

Sorta glad to see E. Carolina lose; they clearly aren't a top 15 team in the country.

Yeah, I can definitely see your logic behind that. After seeing VT and WVU in the games following their beatings by ECU, I was less than impressed by both teams. Don't get me wrong, both were nice wins, but 15 was a bit high. I think they should hover around the 25 mark right now, especially after losing their best defensive player.

I was raised an NC state fan so I had a few mixed feelings today. I think NC state is better than they have showed earlier this season. Despite being ravaged by injuries they have a pretty good team, especially if they can get some production by in the QB slot.

ECU still has no reason not to dominate C-USA. Them remaining undefeated would only cause unwarranted attention to the fact that they aren't a top 15 team in the nation.

It is when it's their first win over a Big Ten team ever.

I was really impressed with Ball State (I got to watch the game on the Big Ten Network). They were in control all the way. I just hope Love is OK.

I'm still an IU fan too, but tonight I was for BSU all the way.

that hat is big enough to wear

I wish it was big enough to burn. Who the hell designs these things? It looks like a cheap flea market american eagle rip off.

Echoed what everyone else said. FWIW, it could've been much worse for IU. Ball State fumbled in IU's red zone, missed a field goal, and gave up a TD on the play Love got hurt on.

Still no word on Love. I'm getting a little worried. A poster on the small fansite BSUFans.com claims to have a source that says Love has a 'fractured fifth vertebra', but that's the closest we have to anything right now.

It's the worst thing I've ever seen. It looks like someone made it out of their old jean jacket from the 1980's.

And Notre Dame is not for real. Sorry guys, maybe next year.

nice job ole piss, you're about to lose at home to vanderbilt

No kidding. Net Yards: Ole Miss 391, Vandy 202. No reason to lose that game.

that joke of a team in Oxford had SEVEN turnovers....plus Vandy had a goal line stop on a fourth down AND later in the game caused a fumble and recovered on the freaking one yard line. It's amazing that Ole Miss had SEVEN turnovers and still only lost by 6.

I'd rather get whipped like a bitch like Miss St. or Arkansas did than have to lose like that.

doesn't look like the Top 25 will move too much. Auburn will drop out of the Top 10, ECU will drop into the 20's, and FSU and WVU will drop out of the poll. I wouldn't be surprised to see BYU jump South Florida, but otherwise, teams in the mid-teens will only gain a spot or two. Vanderbilt will crack the top 25

Kirk Ferentz, Ken O'Keefe and Jake Christensen completely lost the game today by themselves.

Absolutely unreal to not go back to Stanzi for one snap in the second half.

I still don't get the Stanzi love. he's really not any better. our offensive line was terrible with their pass protection today, and Pitt had pretty good coverage when either QB was given time to throw. they had no business losing that game today and should have won by at least 10. Shonn Greene should have been given the damn ball on the 2nd to last series instead of passing every down.

I couldn't disagree more.

How do you figure Stanzi isn't any better? You really don't notice a HUGE improvement in accuracy and decisiveness between the two? That's absolute craziness. How many bounce passes has Ricky thrown? Many of Jake's completions (2-3 more today) are in bad spots where guys have to slide to catch them.

The o-line wasn't that bad. Jake's lack of decisiveness cost us 2-3 sacks because he got happy feet and panicked.

I figure Stanzi isn't better because he's not. both have been inconsistent to terrible in stretches this season. we must have been watching a different game if you think the o-line wasn't that bad. they did a great job with the run, and I'd give them a D for their pass protection, though it did improve as the game went on

You know he's not better because he had a bad stretch in one game during his first career start in terrible weather? When else has he been terrible or inconsistent in any game?

As far as the o-line, I think you've already shown that you're watching a different game than everyone else. Re-watch the game and look at the sacks. There were maybe 3 legit sacks on the day. One of them was Greene making a poor block in pass pro. Jake took 2-3 sacks because of his happy feet and indecisiveness yet again.

So you really do not feel that Stanzi is a more accurate passer? You really do not feel he puts more touch on the ball? You really do not feel that he makes quicker decisions? How many times have you seen Stanzi bounce a routine 8-yard pass for a first down?

Most importantly Stanzi CLEARLY performed better in the first half of yesterday's game and it wasn't close. Yet he didn't get a snap in the second half. We've seen what Jake is and what he will be. He's now played 17 games and even though the entire supporting cast around him is improved, he is performing exactly the same and has the exact same weaknesses.
