Not sure we have much of a chance Saturday. I think the defense can contain Tebow and Harvin and the rest of those freaks fairly well, but I have little faith in Crompton settling down enough to move the offense effectively. If we win, it'll have to be 10-7 or 17-14, etc.

That said, I'm expecting 31-17 Florida.

Glad to see the Cats are well on their way to a 6-6 season with Hartline as the QB, the defense is prob. the best it has been under Brooks.

What are the chances Randall Cobb beats out Hartline at some point? I have no idea how either is doing (save for looking at their stats), but I heard Cobb replaced Hartline in the game last week.

Not high, Hartline got knocked out of the game with an injury.

He's a drop back QB with an ok arm and suspect accuracy, he doesn't make mistakes nor big plays.

He's not someone that bring UK to 8 wins, but he won't drop them down to 4 either.

I see. Had no idea Hartline got hurt.

Nevermind, it was Cobb that got hurt. I couldn't remember from last night. Who knows who'll be starting, my guess is with Hartline.

I figured Hartline would keep starting early on here, but wondered if Cobb had a chance to develop past Hartline later in the year. I figured Rich Brooks was desperate for Curtis Pulley to stay at least in part because he wasn't crazy about Hartline.

Big time Providence OT Patrick Ward (6'7'', 295, ACT of 35) just announced his verbal to Northwestern after his final list was down to NU, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Stanford. And that's without Northwestern having an aerospace engineering program.

This is a good weekend for Northwestern football.

For the 2nd week in a row, I'm really not expecting ND to win. But if they can, they'll be 3-0 for the first time since that one guy that can't recruit was head coach back in 2002. MSU should be interesting at the least.

And Ball State - receiving a couple of votes in the polls this week! - is long overdue because they're 0-41 against big-conference programs all-time. It's time that ended. If we topple IU we will have no reason to not be undefeated heading to Central Michigan in mid-November.

I really hate the poll system. it's such total crap. It's pretty obvious to everyone who's not an SEC homer that Missouri is better than Georgia. But hey, Georgia won (who cares that they looked like crap doing it) so we'll just drop them one spot.

And I know I'm biased here, but Penn State is definitely a better team than East Carolina, Auburn (3-2, LOL) and probably Texas Tech.

They really need to banish polls until after week 6 of the season

Agree completely that polls are useless before midseason at least. But they do help maintain some interest, and the BCS doesn't start until that late anyway.

So I was a little worried about Pitt having this past weekend off and an extra week to prepare before the Iowa game. Then I saw that Pitt is like 0-5 after the bye under Wannstedt.

It makes sense though. The more coaching he's allowed to do, the more damage can be done.

I'd really like to see Iowa beat a good team

If only they played one this week.

it should still give us a better idea of where this team is. Maine and Florida International have provided a lot of the same competition we could have gotten from some of the D3 schools around here, and Iowa State is probably looking at another long season.

by the way, I wasn't implying Pitt was good. it was subtle bitching about the lack of quality opponents early in the season. I'm expecting this team to host Wisconsin with a 6-1 or 7-0 record

LSU and Auburn will be a way low scoring game....By the way did anyone watch the ending of that Auburn and Miss St? Literally the worst offensive game of all time...Auburn fumbled on like 3 straight possessions yet Miss St. didn't score off any of them. This game should be good though

I got what you were saying, I just never miss a chance to take a shot at Pitt. Or maybe it was a shot at myself since I actually thought that Wanny was a good hire.
