Talking about Karma?

Look at Seattle. They are missing 5 of their Starting WR from the beginning of the year. Branch, Engram, Burleson, Payne (1st play today) & Wallace (Converted Backup QB lost before game with Calf injury) are now all out. No to mention losing their starting RB (Morris) and their Starting RG (Sims).

Question. If they are at the cap max, how could they get more players for the position? Do injured players count towards the in season cap?

that fumble call was the biggest load of BS

it's pointless to have replay if it proves to be inefficacious for making the correct call in situations as critical as that one

That definitely was a horrible, horrible call. And by Ed Hochuli too, one of the better officials in the league.

They should be able to reverse that call - even if the whistle blows.

You can't make that play reviewable after the whistle is blown. Players are taught to play their entire lives until the whistle is blown.

The question is why don't the refs just eat the whistle in borderline fumble/incomplete pass situations knowing they have the luxury of replay to back them up? It's surprising Hochuli would do that considering he's probably the best referee in the league.

I can see that and Hochuli probably should have eaten the whistle there. Even the best make mistakes, I guess.

I really don't like the Chargers, but they got ripped off something fierce in that game.

Something's got to be done about officials blowing the whistle too soon. I don't know what -- maybe some kind of intense training with shock therapy 8-) But something needs to be done about that crap.

Steelers up 7-0 at halftime. Browns had their best drive of the game at the end of the half, but but fell apart in the redzone and Polamalu ended up picking Anderson off on the goalline to end the half. Their last drive was the first that even entered Steelers' territory.

How long is Derek Anderson's leash? Five bad games, 10, all year?

I'm probably overreacting, but with Brady Quinn on the bench, if the Brown offense doesn't get going under Anderson I have to think the Cleveland fans will start howling for the ND boy.

Hochuli one of the best in the league? I don't pay much attention to the refs unless its a Cowboys game, but everytime he's reffed for us he's been borderline [expletive].

Really? He's normally a very good ref. Excellent reputation and I've only seen a couple of his games where I've had any questions about him.

I also like how he's very specific about his explanations on confusing calls.

Last year in our opening game vs. the Giants, Ware was held all night long. In several cases flags were thrown, only to be picked back up. Some of his excuses for the picked up flags in that game were "the player being held wasn't a factor in the play, no penalty" and "No penalty because the player ran through the hold". He also reffed a game this year in the preseason and made several terrible calls. One of the players called him out saying that sometimes he throws flags just so that he can show off his body to the cameras. He's known to most Cowboys fans as Ed Hock-a-loogie (though Hocules and "Guns" are also popular).

I remember the Giants/Cowboys game from last year, but that's only one of two or three that I remember him struggling in. Every time he's reffed the Titans or another team I've watched, he's been excellent.

McCarthy is absolutely dismal at playing with the lead. he did the same thing last week going into hyper-conservative playcalling mode against the Vikings.

Exactly. He's absolutely awful in games like this. We had a lot of games last year and especially in 2006 when we had leads bigger than 10 points that we would blow and have the other team get back in it because of his conservative playcalling when we get to a big lead. It's unfortunate because he's a real solid coach besides that, but it's extremely frustrating to see this happen time and time again. He's undefeated against the Lions, but all 3 games he's coached at Ford Field have had the same pattern as this game. Get the big lead, go conservative on offense, have the Lions get back in it, and then you pull away at the end.

At least we stepped on the accelerator when we needed to. We easily could've rolled over and died after the Lions grabbed the lead, but Rodgers and Jennings made sure that didn't happen. Great job by the defense in finally forcing some turnovers too. I figured they'd struggle in the 2nd half because the Lions absolutely dominated the time of possession in the 2nd half, but Woodson and Collins still came up with huge plays.

Next Sunday night is going to be awesome.

i wouldn't commend them too much; Kitna was going to blow the game whether the Packers defense let him or not.

that's his modus operandi.

49ers 1-1 with an offense that can pass. It looks like we could win the division as we almost always beat Arizona and would have last week except we had a uncharacteristic 4 fumbles in the game.

So all i need is Dallas to cover the 7 pt spread tomorrow night and i'll win my weekly confidence pick em pool and a nice little chunk of change...

LETS GO ROMO!!! :clapping:

Wow, I JUST realized the 49ers won the game...

Seahawks 0-2?

Arizona 2-0?

Wow.

If Dallas wins tonight, I'll have picked 14 of the 15 games correctly this week! The only loss was picking KC over the Raiders. I thought that was the 3rd biggest given of the week (NYG over StL, ARI over MIA), as bad as Oakland looked and as tough as KC was vs. NE last week.

Yeah, wow. The Seahawks are 0-2 and have lost 5 WR, 1 RB, 1 RG to injury. Starting 0-2 is pretty easy

Apparently Lane Kiffin is all but fired. He's got a meeting with Al Davis tonight to discuss if he will be fired.

Have I said how much I love Al Davis?

Bitter, eh?

I understand, by the way.

Time for a parade through downtown Oakland in his honor. Soccer you can be a part of the 12-gun salute to him.
