Wow, Al Davis is an idiot.

 

Now, Davis is preparing to fire Kiffin as soon as Monday, regardless of how the visiting Raiders perform Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Mercury News has reported, citing several front-office sources. "You have to look at the history. History is what it is, that he doesn't keep people very long," Kiffin said Wednesday of Davis, two days after the Raiders lost their season opener 41-14 to the Denver Broncos in Oakland. "He's not the guy I hired," Davis said in mid-August, according to the report in the Bay Area newspaper.

 

Good god do I hate Al Davis.

 

I love how he doesn't even think it's his fault - somehow Kiffin has changed since being hired. I don't think it was necessarily a mistake hiring him, but Davis out to at least take the blame for his perceived mistake.

I'd love to see how many of his interceptions over the years have come off tipped balls. Seems like most of them are. He rarely just throws it the other team. His height is the only real issue Drew Brees has.

Absolutely sickening. Dominate for the first 40 minutes then curl up into a ball for the last 20. That was some of the most pathetically conservative playcalling I've ever seen. And I've seen the first 2+ years of the Childress/Bevell era.

San Diego just got screwed over by technical difficulties with the replay system in Denver. Chambers caught the ball, arm was down but Champ Bailey came up with the ball. Replay showed that Chambers was down but the officials ruled it was Denver ball on the field and since they couldn't look at replay, they stuck with the original call.

Wow. The Chargers got screwed. There was a questionable fumble call against them and they threw the red flag for a replay. After 2 minutes, the ref comes out and says the replay equipment isn't working and the time limit is up so the ruling on the field stands.

 

The ruling on the field was probably wrong too.

At the end of the 1st half in the NE-Jets game, Cassel got sacked and hurt his right leg/knee. He limped around for the rest of the series and then went straight to the bench. Karma is definitely not on the Patriots' side right now.
