Hope this puts him on the 15 day DL and he doesn't pitch til a week before the playoffs.

 

Why would they put anyone on the 15 day DL when hey can have up to 40 men on the active roster?

 

That's true, but the main point is we should take it cautious with him for about 3 more starts then have him make his final two starts of the season so he'd be ready to go for the playoffs.

 

I'm really not that concerned about this. I really think it's probably just a tired arm more than anything else, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Thats likely to be the next statement you hear. X-rays were negative and they are sending him to a specialist.

Any possibility this could have been heat related? It was in the 90's here around northern IN yesterday, I imagine it was pretty nasty at Wrigley last night as well.

 

I would agree to shutting Z down for a couple weeks, I think we are fortunate to have a team that is deep enough in SP to handle this.

When he said " I just didn't feel good " I was just hoping he had the hershey squirts or felt sick..Now that it has to do with the arm..I just hope it's not a tear or something signifigant.

I would agree to shutting Z down for a couple weeks, I think we are fortunate to have a team that is deep enough in SP to handle this.

 

And let's also not forget that Z has had a history of cramping up. It's not like this is the first time that he's had to come out of a game early. It's just the timing (September pennant race, losing streak, coming immediately after he was scratched) that has everybody all nervous.

Lee needs rest I posted last week that Aram and Lee needed rest. Right after that post Aram hit a couple of Hrs, but they still need rest. Lee has been just average at best, doesn't drive the ball. hits singles through the infield and if it was at someone it would be a DP. He doesn't have many extra bale hits this last month,( August). He just needs energizing, still a good player, not the star we need, also strikes out more that usual on sliders low and away. Last week we needed a fly ball or a soft grounder to second, not what he did, ground ball to third. He has played long enough to start playing team ball, not i'll try to hit a HR and ground out to third.. To all of you who jumped on me before jump again, but the team deserves more from him.

Well, he doesn't usually wind up seeing a doctor to have his arm checked out when that happens, but yea, I was thinking (or, rather, hoping) about that possibility, too.
