CHICAGO (AP) - Team doctors yesterday removed a growth from manager Lou Piniella's buttocks this morning. Pathology reports showed the growth was actually Cubs pitcher Bob Howry.

CHICAGO (AP) - Rich Harden has AIDS. He's dead now.

And winner of the "taking it too far award goes to..."

You suck at quotation marks

You suck at not offending AIDS patients

CHICAGO (AP) - Early Thursday morning, the Wrigley Field grounds crew found the skeleton of former pitcher Wade Miller in the bullpen. Miller had previously been placed on the 60 day DL in 2006, but was never officially released, nor had he been seen or heard from since. This will surely hurt the Cubs chances at their first world title in 100 years.

Carroll's revised post-MRI take:

Zambrano refused to have an MRI on Wednesday and was a no-show for his appointment, but on Thursday he did receive another cortisone shot and had scheduled tests done that apparently showed he's having another bout of rotator cuff tendonitis. Given his results since last time, I'm not sure that this is going to be comforting news to Cubs fans, especially if he comes back next week with his lower arm slot.

Consider myself relieved.
