Lou didn't talk to Z, so no one knows why Z skipped, refused, or decided to do it tomorrow. No answers from the press conference at all. Just wait to hear tomorrow I guess.

This comes one day after the discomfort in Carlos Zambrano's pitching shoulder forced him from the game after a lackluster five-inning effort. He was scheduled to undergo an MRI today but for some reason will wait until tomorrow.

Does anybody trust anything the organization says right now? I had re-ained a lot of confidence in them since the Prior/Wood days, but it seems like they're taking a huge step back. All this secretive gabage has to stop and Lou needs to stop playing dumb.

Yes, it's all very strange.

 

Carlos Zambrano, who left Tuesday's loss after the fifth inning, met with Cubs orthopedist Stephen Gryzlo at 1p.m. But Zambrano did not show for his scheduled MRI after that meeting.

 

The MRI has been re-scheduled for Thursday.

I'd think it would be the opposite....that he'd want to get it checked out ASAP. I'm guessing something came up and he just couldn't make it.

My guess is that he skipped the MRI because he felt it was unnecessary. I could see him arguing that he just had an MRI a few months ago and things looked fine. I am not saying that I agree with this logic, but Z isn't exactly the Fonz when it comes to being cool and collected.

You say it's secretive but team's can only disclose as much info as the player will allow; which is part of the reason why Lou told the reporters to go ask Z directly about his situation. The rules on this have gotten significantly more stringent in recent seasons.

Z didn't take an MRI because he didn't have time - he went to see a dentist. (A member of the Taiwan Cubs fan forum posted this info. I just re-posted it here).
