Again, I want to know how having a 4-0 lead is supposed to make Jason Marquis a lockdown pitcher...

 

I think the idea is given a decent lead, pitchers should just throw strikes and pitch to contact... but I'm not really sure that Marquis can throw strikes consistently even if he wants to.

 

Exactly. He's not a good pitcher. He almost never has good command so you can't expect him to throw strikes in any situation.

FWIW, I think the WGN gun has been slow today.

 

I doubt it. They clocked Marquis at 93-94 a few times and I don't think he throws harder than that.

Really? I didn't see that. I just saw most of Gaudin and Howry's pitches in the mid or upper 80's.

And the best we can do against the Nationals this year is split our season series. Sad.
