I never understand how some people dont understand the difference between frustration and venting vs. legitamately giving up on the team.

and i never undersand how grown (?) men (?) literally act like five year olds denied a lollipop when their first place, slam dunk to make the playoffs baseball team gets behind 6-4 in the sixth inning of a virtually meaningless baseball game. yet it happens.

We're not a slam dunk to make the playoffs, but okay.

looooooool

It's highly likely, but nothing is a slam dunk.

Have you never watched a game with you buddies or at a bar, no matter how unimportant the game is and got pissed off when the team strokes it? It happens.

no. that sounds like a miserable time.

I'm guilty of that. I went to Wednesday Cubs game with my 16 year old sister, 11 year old sister, 10 year old brother and dad and I sulked like a baby when they lost. I'm pathetic :)

Being at the game is a little different than being at the bar and having the game on. Your focus is a little different.

Again, I want to know how having a 4-0 lead is supposed to make Jason Marquis a lockdown pitcher...

I think the idea is given a decent lead, pitchers should just throw strikes and pitch to contact... but I'm not really sure that Marquis can throw strikes consistently even if he wants to.

I can't get too upset about this game because if we some how blow the division I'd rather play the Mets than the DBacks anyways.

I'm not even sure slam dunks go in 98% of the time...

To the level that people whine in game threads? Nope. At a bar I shrug, turn away from the game, take a swig of beer, and find out whose turn it is at pool.

I usually don't freak out over games like these, really no point. I just play Xbox or something.

What I did hate was when the Cubs lost 2-1 to the Marlins.

How are the Nationals scoring a weeks worth of runs on us?

Jason Marquis, Neal Cotts, Bob Howry.

You have to use them sometime. I'd rather it be against the Nationals.
