Marquis proved he can still beat a lightweight ballclub, so we're on to the 2nd half of the DH.

The Cubs roll out the heavy weaponry with Rich Harden:

Rich has been amazing since the trade, posting a 2.10/214/1.033 and generally dominating teams.

he will face this guy:

Jorge Campillo came to the Braves from Seattle and has posted a nice line: 2.83/145/1.058.

Needless to say, it's good to have won the first game and have Harden going in the 2nd game.

We've hit good pitchers many times this year, tonight is no different. DOMINATE.

I'm hoping for 6 innings at 95 pitches with 2 or fewer runs, the Marshall for 2 and Wood for 1, with the Cubs scoring 5.

Sounds like a winner to me. Let's go get'em!

Technically, the Cubs have two magic numbers. One to make the playoffs, and one to win the division.

So, right now, it's 40 to win the division, and 35 to make the playoffs.

Yeah, perfect. That ATL pen isn't in real good shape for the night game, so hopefully the fellas will be patient.

I'm thinking they don't want to use Marshall today in order to get him on schedule for Sunday. Probably an inning or 2 on his normal throw on the side day

I have a feeling we'll probably end up seeing Fontenot at 2B, DeRosa in RF, maybe Ward at 1B tonight???

I really wish we had Hoffpaiur up. I'd like to see him get a few starts at 1b. It'll give Lee a nice rest and we can see what Hoff can do. Ward has been useless for the entire year.

I'm guessing Soto gets the start since Blanco caught the 9th in game one? I hope so... he's been really hot lately.

I think they would have removed Soto quite a while before that if they were going to start him.

Marshall was getting warm in the 4th. I don't think they plan on resting him through Sunday. If the throws a couple innings today, that will have absolutely no effect on whether he can bounce back and pitch a few innings Sunday. As things stand right now, some sort of Marshall/Samardzija piggy back sounds like the most reasonable plan for Sunday. I would start Marshall and try to get 4 strong out of him, then try and get 2-3 strong out of Samardzija.

Yeah, Blanco playing late was probably a way to get him an at bat before the 2nd game.
