I just looked on stub hub...they are selling SRO tickets for $2K per ticket for Game 1 of the WS right now...that's plain crazy talk.

What are game three tickets going for?

You can bet that'll go up if/when it becomes a reality. The hype will be unbelievable.

This isn't some World Series game in St. Louis. Nobody is getting in for face outside of season ticket holders and the lucky ones who get through on the VWR...

I honestly don't know what I'd do if I got tickets... for what you could sell one seat for, I could get a really nice TV and watch games for years... and I could get a decent feel of the whole atmosphere of it by hanging out at one of the bars outside the park...

But I'd probably just wind up going to the game, like I did last year, when I could've sold my seats for a few hundred....

I'm hanging out in Wrigleyville if the WS comes to the Northside of Chicago.

I will open the bidding to Fred and Ping for my services as a houseguest!

I buy and sell tickets every year, mostly as a way to go to several baseball games for free. But there's no way I'd sell a Cubs WS ticket if I had one. No way. Unless of course Jessica Alba offered up something that I couldn't refuse. Then I might reconsider.

Not me. Cubly speaking, A Jessica Alba or two are a dime a dozen. One comes along every decade or so. Cubs WS tickets however?

Once (ok, twice) a century...

In all likelihood, I'll be pulling the 'drive up just for Wrigleyville' routine as well, but that won't stop me from trying to win tickets in the VWR.

I still have 5 or 6 vacation days to use by mid-November... I'm definitely saving them for a late October trip up to Chicago. World Series tickets (if we get there) are going to be through the roof, but for something that only happens once a century, I'll pay an obscene amount of money to witness it.

I'm also saving up vacation time for the playoffs ... I've got over two weeks to spend, which is actually pretty silly since all the games are at night, and I doubt that I could get to an NLDS or NLCS game.

I offered up a kidney for quality WS tickets to all Wrigley home games in 2003. Offer still stands! Non-smoker, no-alcohol, and I drink lots of water! PM for details - serious inquiries only. I reserve the right to refuse any offer.

:P

IIRC, Mark_R is gonna be back in town in October for a repeat performance right?

Those days are behind me!

I hope so. After all...

The CUBS are 0-1 when facing elimination and Mark_R is in Wrigleyville and trashed beyond recognition. Go CUBS !!

I've yet to drink since I've been down here and I think I'm outgrowing that phase. My wallet is certainly relieved!!

I've thought about going up there for the World Series, but the time off from work and the cost just isn't worth it for me. If for some streak of luck, I get a ticket, I'll definitely be there. But for the price of airfare, the cost to be away from work, and all that, I'm just going to try to gather with all the Cub fans I can find here and just watch it somewhere here.

Now, I did come for the LDS last year and I think I will try to score tickets to the LCS this year.

It seems odd that they would start on a Wednesday and then not play on Friday night.
Until last year the Series started on Saturday. Last year it was changed to Wednesday. I believe the reason was so there would only be one weekend, when ratings are lower. Prior to last year a 7-game Series would have included two Saturdays and two Sundays; now it would only include one of each.

No, I had to back out at the last minute when I wound up with a ticket to the game. But your legend precedes you.

I sold my 4 front row upper deck seats for the NLDS game 3 last year for $900. Personally my plan is to get lucky in the VWR, buy 4 tickets, sell 2 of them, and use the other 2.
