I blame Marmol. I blame lou for not taking marmol out. i don't blame theriot. He was desparate, and he saw that marmol was sucking. It was not a good decision, but I understand it.

 

It was a terrible decision. He was on his back and a runner was on third base. If he botched that throw, the runner could score easily from third.

 

I don't understand it at all.

 

Yeah that was an awful decision. Even if he some how made a perfect throw, one that has maybe a 5% chance of being perfect, I'm not sure if he gets the out in time anyways.

 

He's trying to save his team from Lou. I don't blame him for trying something desperate. It was desperation time. If he holds on to the ball Marmol gives it up anyway in all likelihood. That was probably our only chance to win the damn game. I don't crucify players for trying to win. I do crucify managers for putting the other team at an advantage they shouldn't have.

 

No I applaud his desire to do something heroic, but it was a horrible decision to throw the ball on your back away from your body when its probably not going to get there in time anyways. Theriot can't assume that Marmol is going to blow the game with the next batter, he can only worry about the decision that makes the most sense and creates the highest probability of winning.

Carlos Marmol had better be going on the DL. Just give him some damn rest and have him work whatever this is out with somebody. I don't want to SEE him in a game until this is figured out.

He gave up 3 baserunners over his last 4 outings (3.1 IP) prior to today. He wasn't exactly getting hit hard, either:

 

double, groundout, IF bloop single, single grounded up the middle, single on a soft liner to right, walk, force out 3-6, HBP, IF single to short, fly out to right

 

His command hasn't been good the last two times out now, but that wasn't an issue really a huge issue since the first series against the White Sox.

Yes it is. He has horrible range, a horrible arm, and has made numerous poor decisions in the field.

 

His offense has been great, but if one tried to make the case that Ryan is anything better than a mediocre defender at SS, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

Don't we all, don't we all. Good start wasted from Harden and bad managing, I sure hope he learns from mistakes but I guess he didn't learn from his mistake to pull Marmol with Marshall ready and a 2 run lead.

 

But then again if he brings Marshall in and he gives up more than 2 runs then we are all over him even more anyways. Let's just win this game please and forget about it.

Yeah, he shoudn't have thrown from that position, but he was one decent throw away from ending the game. That inning wasn't on him IMO. I am definitely glad that Marmol will be getting some time off over the break. Hopefully Lou learns from this.
