Remember in April and May when we were amazed at how well Dempster, Zambrano, Lee, Soto, Cedeno, etc were playing. Well umm tide just might be turning.

Yeah cause normally Z and Lee are terrible. :roll:

 

No but Z's ERA has risen every year and his ERA last year was around 4. Lee had like 10 HRs in April and hit over .300.

 

I know I'm being my usual irrational self, but c'mon this lead was built on some solid unexpected performances that are leveling out now.

Johnson, Edmonds, Fukudome, and Soriano all injured in the OF. Of course the defense is going to be terrible.

Is there any reason why Patterson is up instead of Pie? At least Pie can play defense. Patterson is not much of a hitter either. He did have one good weekend, though.

Highly doubt they would call a game where one team is winning handily. If its 1-0 or 2-0 and its raining for 3 hours, then fine. But 4-0 with 2 on and 1 out in the third, they are going to give them every opportunity to play 5.

it's also a tough stretch on paper, through the st louis series. eases up a little after that and our guys should be coming back.

I agree, but when you're gonna leave a guy out in LF who is going to continually give the WS bases and runs, what's it really matter how good the pitcher isn't? Unless he Ks everyone, he's just asking for shaky D behind him today (or so it seems).
