I'm going to assume Cal is really bad, instead of Mizzou being really good.

Montgomery said after the game that Mizzou is the type of team that he just doesn't like to face(pressing, athletic bigs, etc), so I think part of it was just being a bad matchup for Cal and the home atmosphere helping things spiral out of control. That said, Mizzou killed them, they didn't get within 10 points after the 14:50 mark of the first half. Illinois and @Georgia are the two big games left in the non-conference, and given the season so far I'm optimistic we can be 13-2 or 14-1 when conference play rolls around.

Of all people, you should understand. I mean, the last few years we've practically won, right?

I see no reason why Mizzou can't beat UI this year.

and i see no reason why you can't shut the hell up.

I hadn't really seen it from your vantage.

haha. but seriously, worry about your own team because i don't think they can beat either of the aforementioned.

They would kill us. Stupid Cole Aldrich makes them very, very tough. He has taken dueces with more talent than Mike Tisdale.

Mizzou better get us this year. If not it's going to be a long while.

At this point in the season, it would definitely be dicey. But I think we'll be good by season's end. Hopefully we'll limit the meltdowns and put enough wins together to get into the tourney.

And IG, Cole's progress has been pretty amazing hasn't it? It'll be interesting to see how he fares against some bigger frontcourts.

Iowa's leading scorer, freshman Anthony Tucker is suspended indefinitely. Rumor is he was passed out in a bar Saturday night and was taken to the hospital.

The Union

The shame of it is just that he didn't have a teammate or friend to get him home, make him throw up and put him to bed.

Northwestern didn't get a single vote for the Top 25? I'm not saying they should be ranked but I thought that they should have at least a vote or two. Michigan is like 28th or so in the rankings.

They did in the AP. 8 Big teams in total drawing votes(no PSU, Iowa, or IU.

How good is Michigan? They've really confused me...they lose at Duke and lose some bad games, but then beat UCLA and Duke?

Their 2 losses were to Duke (neutral ground), and Maryland (in Maryland...tough place to win typically). Their good wins are over Duke and UCLA. Their 'meh' wins (because of the quality of opponent) are over Northeastern, Michigan Tech (D-II) and Norfolk State. Their bad win was an OT victory at home over Savannah State. 6-2 overall. There is no reason they shouldn't enter Big 10 play at 10-2 with 4 mediocre to bad opponents coming up.

Not a bad loss in there, just that bad Savannah State win. I think they are pretty good...probably a borderline tourney team as they are playing a much more fluid style of basketball this season in Beilien's second year.

Notre Dame basketball is getting more leeway than they probably deserve, falling only to 12th in the AP poll. I guess beating Texas will get you that.

Eh, I think Ohio State is good. They were coming off a top-25 road win. They also present a tough matchup for Notre Dame, with their good defense and length/quickness on the perimeter. (Not that my ND fans wanted to hear any of those things prior to Saturday.)

It's also a shame that it happened at the Union, that place is a dive. Now if it happened at the Q, I would understand it.

Yeah I don't know how they can't be right with Purdue. They are two and four spots ahead of Purdue. They have the same records with Purdue losing to two top ranked teams and Notre Dame losing to one top team and one not. I would put them right with one another. Purdue looked ugly against Duke but I wouldn't count that as any worse than Notre Dame's lose to Ohio State.
