Iowa played well in the first half and had a 40-28 lead at halftime against UT-San Antonio. Then UTSA pressed the hell out of us, we started turning it over like mad and had to hit all of our free throws to win by 5. Lickliter said they simply hadn't really prepared for a 2-2-1 yet.

At The Citadel on Thursday night and home vs. Oakland on Sunday. Could lose either of them.

Last night scared the crap out of me, any D-I team that can press is going to give the Hawks fits because we have a bunch of freshman and no PG.

Iowa should beat The Citadel, because they aren't very good (although all I'm judging them off of is their record last year when they won about 5 games). The big thing is it's a road game and I don't think I have ever been comfortable with a road game. I could see them losing to Oakland easily though. I just hope we can get through this season with out a Louisiana-Monroe type loss.

Lewis Jackson, the Freshman PG for Purdue, is crazy fast. Purdue's offense is looking pedestrian at the moment but they're locking Loyola down on defense.

sorry snood, xavier goes to memphis

yeah, we discussed it a bit already. What's really lame is that he says he went bc his bro is at Memphis. His bro who committed to KU out of High school. His bro who then randomly recruited himself to Memphis without giving KU a second shot.

Oh well. I really hope we get Wall. If we do, the pain will diminish greatly.

How are you watching it? Do you have ESPN U?

And yeah Lewis Jackson is really good. It's not just that he is fast its that he knows how to use it. He can drive very well reminds me of Willie Deane.

Oh and the Purdue offense came on strong at the end of the first half finishing with 40. Not great but Purdue will always be defensive minded first and they held them to 14.

Yeah, I've got the U, but not in HD. I'm an 03' Purdue grad myself.

I really want a piece of Tyler Hansbrough and UNC in the Maui final - I'd love to see Luke Harangody go up against him, and of course there's my loathing of UNC. And the obvious benefit of boosting our SOS. Hopefully we can get through IU and Texas to get there.

This Interactive chat bar that ESPN has at the top of the screen tonight (and during some football games) is the worst idea they've had since that ESPN Hollywood show with Mario Lopez.

I agree, there's a reason why I don't read the ESPN forums. I really don't want to see what stupid people have to say while I watch sports.

Except for you would probably lose.

Holy crap I forgot all about that. I literally can't recall anything about it other than it was hosted by AC Slater.

Hansbrough plays there is no probably to it. They are so far and away better than anyone else this year.

I don't know about far and away. Freshman make such a huge impact now that we're going to see if one or more reaches the Oden/Rose/Durant level before proclaiming anyone the best team.

Also: Kentucky can barely get the ball over half court.

No game with two winning teams is a guarantee March Madness teaches us that.

I'm not sure LewJack is going to be able to become a player at the big ten level due to his size. That's a pretty big obstacle to overcome, especially in a conference that allows defenders to punch a guy in the face as long as they're on their homecourt.

I don't think there are any frosh this year near the level of any of those guys.

Sure. Anyone who plays UNC is probably going to lose. But it'd be great to get a shot at them.

I don't think he will ever become dominant but I think he can be a 15 point scorer and top assist player. His shooting seems to need work but Keaton Grant went from a crappy 3-pt shooter to one of the Big Ten's top ones.

Scoring 15 pts/game and being near the top of the league in assists is dominant.

I'll eat your hat if LewJack ever averages 15 pts/game. I'd put less than even money on him averaging double digits ever.

IU with a hard fought win over IUPUI. Yeah, I know shut up. But it was a good win for the young group of Hoosiers, went down to the wire. 19-2 run to end the 1st half, was probably the best 7 minutes of basketball this team is capable of. Granted the competition was weak and the rest of the game they were beaten 55-41.

The Big Ten hasn't had any bad losses as of yet, at least. Probably safe until tomorrow, as it looks like Wisconsin is going to squeak by tonight.
