Some blogger on MSNBC's sports is doing a top-25 all-time basketball programs. He's up to #14 (Illinois, which is curiously rated higher than Michigan State.) I already disagree with some of it, but it's still interesting.

Stopped when I saw ND at 22. They get favoritism in basketball too I guess. To have them over Purdue (and I'm sure a couple other teams) just isn't right. Purdue and ND's win percentage are very close (both in the mid 60's). They are close in pretty much every way and are perhaps the two best programs without a title (can't think of another at the moment). The different is Purdue's extra final four appearance and the fact that Purdue has the most Big Ten titles more so than the other 5 or so Big Ten schools that will likely be on the list. I would probably exclude both from the top 25 due to lack of title (would have to research the schools that aren't in to make sure) but if one gets in its the one that has beaten many of the other schools on the list most and thats Purdue.

Knowing the way these silly lists are done, ND probably got in because of stopping UCLA's 88 game win streak or some other such nonsense.

Mizzou got a commit from Michael Dixon, and they're either the leader or top 2 for Michael Snaer. wtg Mike Anderson

Snaer will go to Mizzou.

Dixon is a nice pickup. I always assumed that Anderson should be able to land a bunch of top-flight guards.

SIU's playing in some pre-season tournament at Windsor, Canada right now (the same one Illinois played in last year). 2-0 to start the trip...the freshmen have supposedly looked extremely good. Carlton Fay had 24 points in just 18 minutes today too.

None of this really matters but with all of the freshmen that we have this year, the extra time on-court won't hurt us.

Fay is going to be pretty damn good for the Salukis. He was a man amongst boys while in HS.

Tyler Honeycutt - a SF from Sylmar, CA rated the 21st best 2009 prospect per Scout - committed to UCLA today. :)

Takes a bit of the sting out of Abdul Gaddy recommitting to Arizona .

Well, Ive probably posted this before, but Kenny Inge is now my varsity basketball coach. He said the NCAA and NBA championship rings are even bigger in person than they look in a picture. He also called Vince Carter, Antwan Jamison, Elton Brand, Joe Forte, and Brenden Haywood all soft. He also complained about ACC refereeing. The starting JV point guard told Inge that on NCAA 2000ish, that all he could do was dunk with Inge.
