Manny Harris is so not making the All Big Ten team.

Michigan will be terrible.

Ummmmm he made second team All Big Ten last year and Hummel is the only returning first teamer meaning there are plenty of open slots. He is also the conferences leading returning scorer and Michigan will likely be better than they were last year.

Manny Harris was a guard with a A/TO ratio worse than 1. Much worse than 1.

Michigan's returning roster sucks. Their incoming freshmen suck. John Beilien should get down on his knees and thank God every day for the charred remains of the Indiana Hoosiers or they'd be a lock for last in the Big 10.

Didn't affect him in getting second team last year as a freshman. Since he was a freshman he is likely to improve that A/TO margin. Lastly Michigan finished second to last last year so I don't see how it happening again will make it impossible for Harris to be first team. If they had a preseason first team he would be on it.

Yeah and he's included on my first team predictions.

I have a strong feeling that Moore is going to have a monster season. The one thing that troubles me about Purdue is that Johnson didn't put on much weight in the offseason. Apparently though, he worked his tail off on his defense. Let's hope that pays off.

Why did the other white kid transfer, not Hummell but I am blanking on his name? Was that ever really elaborated on?

Scott Martin. I don't think it was ever really said, but if you read between the lines, it didn't seem like he was happy with his role. The kid's a very good shooter, and could end up being a decent rebounder. However, Purdue has long been a program that preaches defense, defense, and more defense. He has slow feet, which causes him to be a little more "handsy" on defense, which in turn leads to more fouls. I think that was one of the primary reasons he lost his starting job halfway through the season.

here's hoping that Stanley Pringle (PSU) can get through the year with a public masturbation incident.

I really hope you mean without.

I did mean that.

or did I?

Just make sure the towelboy is on standby to wipe down the floor. Don't want anyone slipping in the lane.

if he could just slip into the lane once in a while, he wouldn't be publicly masturbating

My first team Big Ten if I was choosing a preseason

Trevon Hughes

E'twaun Moore

Evan Turner

Robbie Hummell

Marcus Landry

I know that sme will disagree with this list, but hey it's only my thoughts.

I went with Hughes and Landry because they play for Bo Ryan and Bo Ryan always has a good year. His system is a very good one and both these guys were very good last year. Landry won the big ten toruney mop. Hughes is, in my opinion, the best point guard in the big ten.

The two Purdue guys I really like. Robbie Hummell is a player. Hell he might have been the best player in the conference last year. E'Twaun Moore is just oozing with potential, he is one of the few guys in the Big Ten that you can just give the ball to and get a very good shot out of reguardless of the situation. I wonder though if he is the type of kid who ends up being a better pro than college player.

As for Turner, I just like the guys game. I know he is young and really doesn't have a true position, but it's my team and I am going with him.

Other guys who could challenge for this team are

Legion-Illinois

McCamey-Illinois

Cornley-Penn State

Mullins-OSU

Lighty-OSU

Coble-NU

Roe-MSU

Morgan-MSU

Harris-MU

Sims-MU

While these guys aren't a who's who of pro prospects, the good news for the conference is they are all pretty young. Couple this with the big recruiting classes coming at Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Indiana and there is no doubt the Big Ten should be on the way back up in the national spotlight.

Purdue played some games against some very strong competition in Australia over the summer. All reports from that indicate that Moore showed a stronger ability to create shots for himself than he did as a freshman. I think he was a little tentative for the majority of his first season. Part of that probably had to do with the fact that his ball-handling skills weren't anything great. It sounds like he's really improved that part of his game, and that's one of the reasons I can see him really taking off this year.

Like you said, Hummell is a player. I'm curious to see how he builds off of his success as a freshman, since he was a strong all-around player. It wouldn't surprise me if he really improved his rebounding numbers this season.

Moore averaged 27 points per game against the Australian teams. It should be noted they didn't play other Australian college teams they played the professional teams and went 2-3.

Morgan or someone from MSU will almost have to be on first team because they will finish in the top three.

Yep. It should also be noted that they didn't play by college rules, which meant a longer gametime. However, I believe their losses were pretty close games (too lazy to look that up). Moore and Calasan played very well over there.

I wouldn't just pencil them in the top 3.

Purdue is better than them.

Wisconsin will be in the top of the conference, they always are and Bo rents Izzo's butt out each year as he owns him.

Ohio State has as much talent as they do.

I do think that MSU will be at the top, but I do not think they are a lock to finish above any of those teams.

Could be that, but one of my friends from school wrote for the team and talked to him and I guess he never really blended with the other 3 guys. He for some reason was homesick even though he was only 45min away. He's probably going to play for Valpo or Indiana State so he'll play more and in the Valpo case cause it's where he's from

Ha that's cause Calasan plays like them probably like a Big Eastern European guy aka Kukuc. Yeah I heard they played real close with them. I think Moore will play even better than last year. He was kind of scared of shooting last year until the end of the season and that's when he started scoring big. I swear that guy can shoot from anywhere is range is phenomenal. Johnson I have a good feeling about to. He's got range for a big guy. If he could put on some weight he could be very affective.

I'm saying this because Wisconsin lost to much this year. Yeah they held onto Landry and Flowers, but all those big guys graduated. Ohio State is very talented, but we have to see if that pans out and on the other hand Minnesota was last year where everyone predicted Purdue was going to be last year. So who knows maybe a year into Tubby Smith and all those Sophomores will make this team even better?

Scott Martin transferred to Notre Dame.

So did Ben Hansbrough, while I'm on the subject.

college basketball doesn't exist for the next couple of years as far as I'm concerned.

Why?

Minnesota's not very good. They aren't close to Ohio State.
