KU landed Thomas Robinson (the #7 PF, #20 player overall) and Elijah Johnson (#6 SG, #25 player overall.)

Looking to add possibly two more players. We're definitely hoping for one of Xavier Henry (#1 SG, #4 overall), Dominic Cheek (#3 SF, #15 Overall), or Michael Snaer (#5 SG, 22 Overall.)

And we're still in on John Wall (#1 PG, #2 Overall.)

I think getting Wall is unlikely given we got Johnson, who will probably be more a PG. And as much as I want Henry, I think he's Memphis bound. I think we likely end up with Snaer out of Henry/Cheek/Snaer.

Still, the #20, 25, and 22 players overall would be a nice haul.

(fire-breathing hatred)

haha. Hey, Weber has really stepped up his recruiting. The Jerrance Howard/World Wide Wes connection is already paying dividends.

Just stay out of Chicago, and we'll be real friendly-like. At least let us have Chicago.

You keep your greedy little paws off of Snaer.

Haha, no way. I really like that kid. I'd probably prefer him to Cheek, though Cheek is more highly rated. And the Mizzou fallout would be a delicious fringe benefit.

How good of a chance do we actually have at landing him? I don't see any reason why he'd pick us over UCLA or KU.

I think you guys are in the top 3. Honestly, I think UCLA is four. Everything I've read has suggested Snaer wants immediate minutes and is worried about Jrue Holiday returning. I think it's a real battle between FSU/Mizzou/KU.

After what Collins has done for us, we'd better not. Gotta keep the Chicago pipeline flowing.

Better start recruting the junior highs then.

Haha, touché. I can't wait till Weber and Gillespie duke it out over a very projectable seven-year-old.

There is no way in hell Jrue Holiday is returning for a sophomore year. Snaer can't be afraid of him. Snaer might be afraid of Malcolm Lee, I guess...though those guys are real good friends. I'm sure there's Malcolm Lee-level competition at KU.

I doubt we get Snaer, I think he's a Jayhawk. Sucks because Abdul Gaddy re-committed to Arizona.

And seriously, Jrue Holiday is the ish.

I think Snaer's commitment is entirely dependent on X Henry's. If X goes to KU, Snaer ends up at FSU or Mizzou. If he goes to Memphis (more likely, boo), Snaer comes to Kansas.

Cheek could confuse the whole deal, though. If he commits to KU, Snaer could go to FSU/Mizzou regardless of X's decision.

If you don't think Holiday is a problem, why are you writing off UCLA's chances? Sounds like they'd have as good a shot as anyone.

I think other schools are too far ahead of UCLA, they got in earlier on Snaer. If he's willing to wait to recruit till the spring, I think UCLA will have a much better chance.

Well, it's down to the two schools. But Henry's brother--who had a scholly to KU before he went to play baseball--decided to go to Memphis. And for a long time, it's really seemed like X was a Memphis lean, too. Now it's unclear again. But I get the feeling since his brother's at UM, his dad is friends w/ Cal, and he's talked a lot about going to a place where he can showcase his skills (Memphis runs that playground dribble-drive offense), he'll end up there.

I don't think so. I believe he re-signed with the Yankees, but he's going to play baseball in the spring/summer and play hoops/do school during the fall/winter. Or something like that. He hurt his knee, though, so I think he's out for this basketball season.

i think any school is going to have a hard time getting the top kids out of illinois now that weber has decided to get in on them early.

blackshear in 11 will probably NOT be in champaign, but there's so much talent in that class it's ridiculous. i think illinois gets mike shaw, sam thompson, chasson randle, and tracy abrams out of that group.

michael chandler would be nice to add to it as well.

i just hope blackshear doesn't get to ku. i don't see him in o and b, because i think he's a little intimidated by all of the guards at illinois. i guess that should mean we don't want him anyway, but he good, he real good.

snood, when we sweep you in basketball this season, you can officially jump ship to the sooners

I ain't scurred.

Your both going down.

I'd feel a lot better about that if Augustine had stuck around for 1 more year.

Snood didn't you guys bring in a class of like 8 this year? Where the hell are you guys getting the scholarships for them?

I think we technically only have two open schollies, but there's talk of someone transferring, Morningstar paying his own way, and the possibility of Sherron and/or Cole trying the NBA.

That's another reason why Wall is a longshot, IMO. He'd have to wait until the spring signing period to see what's happening with our roster.

ND tickets went on sale last Wednesday and I bought seats to Georgetown and Louisville. Man, this is going to be a fun year.

We kinda have the same problem with our classes right now. We are still going after Chris Colvin even though we have no openings. Makes me think someone is leaving or will be asked to leave. I am not really sure how to feel about that. I would love to have Colvin, but don't want to force out any kid who wanted to play for us during a period when no one else wanted to. It is a tough spot to be put in.

Yeah, recruiting over guys kinda sucks, especially since guys like Morningstar, Reed, and Teahan (who might be a walkon, can't remember) actually contributed to our championship. Then we've got juco guys like Appleton and Little--new recruits for this year--who may have signed for a perma-bench role. Not sure why we bothered with them at all.

But how can you pass on a guy like Wall/Henry/Snaer/or Cheek? Kind of an ugly situation.

I am not sure why Bill signed sme of the last class he did. The way he recruits, he shoulda have known he would regret that quickly. Especially after winning a national title. He is going to be very hard to stop on the recruiting front now.

I think he was worried about having enough bodies for this next season. We lost Kaun, Chalmers, Rush, Arthur, Jackson, Stewart, Robinson, and Case. Case and Stewart were used sparingly, but they did play some. Those other guys, obviously, clocked huge minutes. If we didn't bring in a bunch of new guys, a real down year was a possibility.

I think he got the JUCO guys because he wanted a bit of maturity. But then, after we'd signed all those guys, Tyshawn Taylor fell into our lap. I guess he was too good to pass up--he's been getting rave reviews--but it made the Appleton signing pretty regrettable.
