I'm reading on medical sites that things like this are 4-6 weeks in a cast and then anywhere from 2-4 weeks of rehab to regain strength. It might 6-10 weeks before he returns. So anywhere from Late July to Late August

Fantastic. Just fantastic.

So I take it Murton will come up tommorow, and Friday, Kevin Hart will be sent to Iowa and Hoff will come up.

Not sure... I would expect Lou might want to stay with 13 pitchers through the interleague series.

He's at least got to go on the 15 day DL. The Cubs played well with Soriano out last time, but I doubt they will repeat that play. Bring Haufauir up, move DeRosa to left and play Fontenot at 2B, or let Edmonds and Johnson play full time.

Let Edmonds and Johnson play full time. Hell maybe Jim can stay hot I don't know.

Oh dear, please no. God kills a kitten every time Reed Johnson gets a plate appearance vs. a right-handed pitcher.

And all because freaking Cox has to have his pound of flesh.

I watched that replay, that was on purpose. That pitch was a deliberately aimed fastball inside. Screw this crap!

I get the feeling a rental in LF just got bumped up the trade deadline target list.

Hoffpauir and Murton can come in and produce adequately, but losing Soriano for a minimum of 6 weeks hurts badly.

They were already planning on bringing up Hoffpauir before Toronto. Now you would assume that someone comes up tomorrow to replace Soriano and then Hoffpauir still comes up Friday.

Brian Giles.

I think people are overreacting a little. Soriano is a good player, he's not a great player. The loss of Gallardo is much bigger than this and the loss of Pujols is comparable.

If this team collapses due to the loss of a mid to high .800's OPS guy with poor defense, then they have other problems.

That is perhaps the worst possible solution.

Yeah, I'm honestly not too worried.

Wouldn't be a bad choice, but even on the road he's not hitting for much power. His BABIP is a tad high, which makes me think he'll have a bit of a slump in the near future.

I'm back and forth on the idea. It could work.

Hoffpauir can come up tomorrow since he'll be replacing someone on the DL.

I did not know that. Either way, someone will come up for waste of space Kevin Hart. Im guessing Murton, but Eric Patterson could also be an option, as could Andres Torres as a dark horse. Or is it Ansres Blanco? The younger one. I always get those 2 confused.

Nothing good will come from pouting about this. For once, the Cubs have enough depth and other productive players that they should be able to weather this.

Makes the summer more interesting. Things were just going too smoothly.

You know whats (not) funny. Literally one batter before Soriano's AB, Pat and Ron were talking about the amazing number of injuries to big named players lately.

Wainwright

Pujols

Glavine

C. Jones

etc

etc
