He left his last start with a finger injury. Rumor now is that it's similar to what Joel Zumaya had, a ruptured tendon. Zumaya needed surgery and missed 4 months, so if it's the same for Wainwright, he'd be done for the year.

I like Wainwright a lot, but I'm not shedding any tears. We have the best record in baseball, I want a 5.5 game lead to go with it.

lol...this sums up my fantasy baseball year

i just traded for him

boo...i actually like wainwright though...even though he is a cardinal

by the way, if wainwright is really out for the year, then the cubs really have no excuse for not winning the division. the brewers' #1 or #2 goes out for the year and the cards' #1 does the same? this should be over by mid-september.

Ben Sheets is out for the year?

Accoring to Rotoworld, Joel Pinearos replacing him, coming straight of the DL w/o a rehahab assignment.

I predict no hitter!

I hope you understand that you must now systematically pick off anyone who threatens our path to the World Series. I targeted brewers from the AS break on last year. This year the responsibility falls on your shoulders.

I had one team in 2005 and 2006 where it seemed like every starting pitcher I drafted either sucked or got hurt, so who did I draft in 2007? Chris Carpenter.

The baseball gods are really trying to help us out this year.

It's weird isn't it?

PS. Heh, I just traded him. What great timing!

Not to mention that the Cards are already without Carpenter, although everyone knew he'd miss a significant portion of this year.

It's weird... the cardinal fans I work with are complaining... saying that it sucks because of all the injuries... and I mention our past injury problems, and they try to "compare" them saying there injuries are 1000000000x greater than any we had.
