Good. Stay down as long as possible.

It'll be awesome if the Cardinals are something ridiculous like 8 games out by the end of August. I don't want to hear about them again this season.

8 games out? Unlikely.

I still don't understand where Cubs fans are getting this sense of entitlement to the division crown. That team of "scrap metal" and "rejects" has played your team of God's gifts to baseball to an even split and you play it off as luck.

Ludwick was a highly touted prospect until he ran into a string of injuries. If those hadn't happened he would probably have been playing near this level years ago for another team.

Ankiel is one of the best athletes in baseball, so his success isn't that baffling.

Pujols? Who's this guy?

Schumaker has been a good Cards prospect for a while, but as Cubs fans you aren't that familiar with him. Just as I was like "Who the hell is this Theriot turd?" earlier in the season.

The bias in this place when talking about the Cards is unbelievable. I expected a lot since this is a Cubs fan board, but I bet you don't play Soto's performance off as pixie dust.

Cards are a few back and you are afraid of the history you try so desperately to say is irrelavant. While it has no real impact on the games this year (just as players' performances years before only correlate and do not determine their performance this year) we are in your collective dome!

38-37 in their last 75(doesn't even sound arbitrary this time!!) and facing a brutal schedule the rest of the way(as brutal as an NL schedule can be.)

Cardinals are toast.

But by all means, I'll be cheering my ass for them the rest of the way. They're the 6th or 7th best team in the NL, and I'd love to get to face them in the playoffs rather than one of the better teams.

The Cardinals pythagorean is 9 games worse than the Cubs.

The Cubs split against the Cards came entirely at Busch stadium.

The Cards have played at an 85 win pace since May 1st, the Cubs have played at a 93 win pace since May 1st.

The Cubs have scored 42 more runs and given up 48 fewer runs than the Cardinals, despite a marginally tougher schedule.

Considering the documented substance abuse histories of current and former Cardinals players like Mark McGwire, Fernando Vina, Troy Glaus, Rick Ankiel, Ron Villone, Ryan Franklin, Juan Gonzalez, etc. and their Leader, The Great Enabler (LaRussa), are you really in a postion to be throwing around unfounded allegations about Soto?

He wasn't referring to PEDs, more about the (truthfully kind of annoying) talk of Cardinals pixie dust making guys better than they should be.

That was the only reason they picked him up that one spring training. They needed some extra stuff for all the ST invites.

Too bad he didn't last, he was supposed to be Tony's Designated Driver.

It still amazes me that with a franchise as terrible as the Cubs historically, you can still find a few little things to take solace in. Please say nothing to Cardinal fans until you can witness a WS title without having to hear from it from 4 generations back.

I'm 110 years old. So yeah, take that.

Agreed. The audacity of these Cubs fans, responding on a Cubs message board to comments from Cards fans designed to stir up trouble, the unmitigated gall.

Really he is right though. We are so bad. I mean I think we have the least wins ever as a franchise, I don't think we have ever won a world series, we have no hall of famers, and our stadium sucks so we have to build a new one every 30 years or so. Plus we have a terrible fan following. Why don't they just contract us?

It's all in fun though, we just wanna see our teams win, that's all.

Carp did look decent tonight, save the first 2 innings.

[expletive] us and our stupid little song that none of our fans, who do not exist, like to sing in other teams' ballparks after wins, which we never get cause we suck too bad.

No fun is when one of your crap pitchers die, while high, which is like every 4 years or so.
