  1. Honestly I think the Cubs period would. Absolutely. I couldn't imagine a bigger TV rating for baseball than a Cubs/Yankees WS. It just seems that no matter what the matchup is in baseball, any football game on the same day beats it. Infuriates me! Watch baseball, it's the best!
  2. I wonder what the television ratings would be for a Cubs/Cards NLDS? Not quite a Yankees/Sox, but I'd bet it would captivate a lot of the country.
  3. Just dropped in to say it should be a great rest of the season. And, how likely are we to see a Northwestern v. Illinois football game at Wrigley in the near future?
  4. Someone should tell him that they don't run blood tests to detect anxiety.
  5. Any current players that you see reaching this? How about 3500?
  6. Agreed. The audacity of these Cubs fans, responding on a Cubs message board to comments from Cards fans designed to stir up trouble, the unmitigated gall. It's all in fun though, we just wanna see our teams win, that's all. Carp did look decent tonight, save the first 2 innings.
  7. It still amazes me that with a franchise as terrible as the Cubs historically, you can still find a few little things to take solace in. Please say nothing to Cardinal fans until you can witness a WS title without having to hear from it from 4 generations back.
  8. 1-0 Post Pujols Waino era
  9. I will personally keep this thread going with Post-Pujols, Waino injuries, regardless of the outcome. KyleJRM, if I forget, pick up the slack.
  10. How many times does this organization have to prove to you that they overcome obstacles and win despite circumstances. The 06' team wasn't as talented as other clubs, yet they won. I'm not saying they'll win it all, but this team will be there till the end, book it. And yes, please revisit this thread at the end of the year, right or wrong. I will eat crow gladly if need be.
  11. 2 1/2 games isn't much. Not with almost 3/4 of the season left.
  12. I'm a Cardinal fan and have been since birth. I have alot of Cubbie fan friends. Acutally, the majority of them are Cub fans. With both teams playing well right now, how cool and exciting would a pennet race between these two rivals be? I'm not sure if my blood pressure could take it, but a one game playoff to decide the winner or even better, a game 7 NLCS game, would be amazing. Off topic, I know.
  13. I agree. I would still say Pujols overall as well, taking the total package into account. However, I believe the majority of baseball fans would still take Arod. Not a bad choice either way.
  14. Who does everyone consider to be the best, most productive, pure hitter in the game today? Considering every current player and their entire careers. Some candidates: Arod Pujols Manny, who just hit #500 Ichiro DLee Ortiz Berkman H. Ramirez I see this discussed on other boards (ESPN, MLB) and the conversations end up argumentative. Discuss.
  15. I'm not very familiar with the Pirates other than they're from Pittsburgh. Who's the ownership group for the team? To me, Pitt seems like a great fan base. Has ownership done anything recently to show interest in winning? I can't remember a competitive Pirate team since the early 90's, correct?
