It certainly doesn't matter at all. But when you're not looking for those type of things, or picking up on small details, to me at least, it is like a 5 year old who watches but has no idea why or how.

When you're looking for them, you tend to see them. A lot of them. That's how cognitive dissonance works.

Oh look. We score a run and then give it right back. They remembered they're the Cubs again.

Damn you Marquis for putting a blemish on my perfect game thread record.

You had to know when it was Marquis starting, you were in trouble.

I don't know why Lee has shown the HR swing multiple times in this AB. I don't think many HRs will be hit tonight.

I'd prefer half-strength swings.

C'mon you know theres a difference between a fast uppercut swing and a regular swing.

I really don't think most major-league hitters have different swings. It's hard enough to hit a freaking baseball without trying out a bunch of different swings.

Maybe an outside pitch swing and an inside pitch swing, but that's about it.

So you're the Cubs fan who has never seen Aramis Ramirez bat. Check him out sometime.

Or Sosa, he used to swing as hard as he could and you could see him pull his eyes off the ball. It drove me nuts.

Take the good with the bad. Aramis is better about shortening it up when he needs to... most of the time anyways.

Well, I got lucky once. I pushed my luck, though.

Haha, Lou's looking like he's getting sick of this crap too. I wouldn't mind seeing him really go off on someone right about now.

Not only has Marquis totally crapped on his "he's kinda good early on in the season" annoyance, he's also completely forgotten he was a decent hitting pitcher, too. Congratulations, Jason! Complete worthlessness achieved!

You think players have one swing. Goodnight.

i seriously have never hated a cub as much as marquis. that includes dusty, neifi, gremlin, etc.

I still hate Todd Hundley more than any other Cub

I definitely hate Dusty more. He's cost us the best years of Prior and Wood's careers, costing the Cubs by far more games than Marquis will and probably bringing about the need for Marquis.

I loved Sosa. I just am an emotional pitch to pitch living Cubs fan.
