I just realized, Marquis is scheduled to be pitching on Sunday Night Baseball at Dodger Stadium. Wow we're going to be embarassed on National TV

Not only has Marquis totally crapped on his "he's kinda good early on in the season" annoyance, he's also completely forgotten he was a decent hitting pitcher, too. Congratulations, Jason! Complete worthlessness achieved!

Marquis has not been a decent hitter in years.

Man Marquis really enjoys pitching to the heart of the order doesn't he? Once he sniffs Giles or Gonzalez, he just throws balls until he gets to them.

Hopefully it'll be Marshall or Hart (or Soriano or Darren Baker or Hillary Clinton)

So you're the Cubs fan who has never seen Aramis Ramirez bat. Check him out sometime.

I'm watching him right now. They all look the same to me.

It never ceases to amaze me how little some peopl actually see when watching a game.

Nor does it amaze me how much people see beyond what is actually happening.

It you dont think hitters shorten their swings, push the ball, swing for contact, etc... you have no idea what youre talking about

what does it matter what you see? it's probably a lie or a half-truth, anyway.

Sulley breaking out the Plato... well played.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but apparently Pujols left the game tonight after being HBP. This is a second hand story from my (Cardinals fan) roommate, so I don't know where he was hit or if it was precautionary.

I really hope Hart isn't still up by Sunday night.

I'm still not convinced that Hart is starter material, but how many innings was he up to in Iowa?

Got to love opposing players dumb enough to swing at a Marquis pitch

He's a veteran he must know what he's doing.

The Cubs have been robbed of, what, 4 homers so far this series thanks to this stupid park?

Soto's ball was 390 feet to dead center. The ball doesn't carry great in this park, but there's a lot of parks that's not out in.

It was 390 feet because it died in the air. That's gone most other parks.

I think I'm going to need to see a fan graph.

How does Marquis manage to not have a ridiculously awful ERA, he must be the luckiest pitcher in baseball. Edited by bcl412

Wow, I thought he did arlight last season, but checking BR, he's sucked with the bat for 3 full seasons now. Learn something new and sheeeeeeety every day.

Raise beer prices at Wrigley by a quarter if you have to, but it's time to eat Marquis' contract and end this bad experiment.

He can't be worse than Marquis. Give him a shot.
