Beyond the 6 games they play the Cubs or any other team you support, you shouldn't really care. The only ones that it's important to are some of those sports talk radio nimrods, who want to compare these two teams rather than their own division.

I see my fair share of Sox games being in the Chicago area and I enjoy watching their pitching as well as Quinten and Ramirez, but I don't actively root against them.

I know reading WSI is a bad idea, but it's just too damn fun...

After our own jonred said "The Cubs have a larger fan base, so they logically get more attention," the WSI admin responded with "You should not be in this thread and statements like the one that is highlighted will get you banned for trolling."

My God, it's just too funny.

Leave it to me to apparently stir the pot...I thought I was simply providing a rather logical reason for why the Cubs might be getting more media attention....Cubs fans outnumber Sox fans what 2-1, 3-1?

I had to laugh though, did they not expect the media to jump on Ozzie's latest rant?

This is great for you. I reserve my right and the rights of others to hate the Sox, if only because they hate us. However, I have a better reason - the meathead fans I went to college with.

Insinuating that it's petty or immature or whatever to root against a team that isn't playing us at the time is on a par with Sully's "meatball Edmonds haters" foolishness. Posts like these really tend to stifle friendly debate.

Like 90% of Sox fans I've met I've liked and gotten along with. I seem to miss the majority of the obnoxious ones. The people I can't stand are usually perpetuating their idiocy online, one good medium for that is the comment section of ESPN articles.

I have yet to stroll into the depths of WSI but from the comments here I'm either gonna have a good laugh or be too frustrated to continue reading, gonna have to check it out sometime.

I got banned at WSI for saying that I didn't care if Podsednik tried to steal off Zambrano. Then they highlighted all the krazy troll things I said in red. Good stuff.

:D "Hey, Zambrano's had a pretty good year"

:-s "Thanks for not being a troll, that's nice to see"

 "He was banned for being a troll"

:-s "What did he post that was trolling?"

 "He said that Zambrano was having a pretty good year."

:-s "What a dick"

Yeah, I liked how deferential the guy was to that ass of an admin. "How DARE you have a contradicting opinion!?"

If they want to have a board where only White Sox fans post and there are no outside opinions, however polite, I guess that is their right.

I like having other teams' posters post here, personally.

The only thing that surprises me about White Sox Interactive is that White Sox fans can operate computers.

or that they own or have access to them!

I find the whole White Sox fanbase to be kind of weird. I don't know of another team whose fans are so universally mean-spirited (the war on all things Cubs) and ignorant (war on Baseball Prospectus). Strange little tribe they have down there.

The Baseball Prospectus thing was hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.

Details on the war on BP please.

agreed

I dont think ive ever been to WSI, so I went to check it out. First thread I saw?

According to the Trib, the Sox are (surprise!) looking at some position players for their #8 pick in the first round. It's been forever since we had a pick that high, but how would you feel if Kenny dealt the pick as part of a package for a solid .300 hitter with a bit of pop who could help breathe life into our offense? Let's face it, we don't have much else of value to trade.

Baseball Prospectus, I believe via PECOTA, projected the Sox at 72 wins before last season.

The Sox players laughed off the stats geeks, and many Sox fans I know made it a point to berate and mock BP every chance they got early in the season for this ridiculous projection.

The final result: White Sox 72-90.
