Watching Pirates coverage. The announcers are raving about Soto. Apparantly the Pirates organization believes Soto has the fewest holes in his swing.

Soto was out. He never touched the plate.

Bad Call, IMO

I was wrong... bad slide

It wasn't a really a bad slide, it just happened that Paulino hooked Soto's ankle...kinda a freak thing.

I honestly think if he would have ran instead of slid he would have made it. He seemed to make a complete stop the moment he slid.

Or if he slid head first or with his right leg out instead of his left

I guess this game being at 12 means that it won't be blacked out because of FOX, right?

wrong. Saturday day games area blacked out from noon until 6 or 7

Apparently not because I'm watching it now.

that is like telling someone to bat wrong handed

Somewhere a baseball guy is praising the Pirates batter for getting the runner to third with one out, not noticing that the odds of scoring and the average run expectancy of the inning both swung in the Cubs favor on the play.

Really more of a complaint about bad luck. There were a lot of things he could have done that would have made him safe. He had no reason to think that a normal feet first slide would result in him being out. *shrug*

Geo being gunned down is disappointing but still its not like last year where we are certain to never have another opportunity to score again, lets just hope we can keep the Pirates down a bit.
