very excited about this hot streak

agreed... I really took it badly when we started losing again. If we can build up a nice 15 over .500 cushion, I can calm down and not let day to day affairs affect me.

If we get 15 games over .500, I might lose my mind

What is being overlooked is that Gallagher's stuff has looked electric at times today. That is more exciting to me than Soriano's and Geo's awesomeness.

DLee is a very good defensive first baseman.

I wish he would miss more bats though. Oh man Bay just ticked off Soto.

I figure with our luck we will and Houston and St. Louis will be a game and two back.

Geo's going to hit one 800 feet over Bay's head for sport.

In a few hours we'll be 2/3rds of the way there.

PECOTA-projections laid over current results puts us at an average of 95 wins at this point.

Gallgher has looked pretty good today...his array of pitches is very impressive. Less walks = more gooder, of course, but more than a few of those balls have been real borderline pitches that a more established pitcher would likely have called in his favor. He's not looking wild at all.

What'd he do? Do we need to internet thrash Jake for Bay's behavior?

Me too. But his curve ball has been very impressive. Absolutely froze a few hitters already today.

Soriano is on pace for 9 homeruns this game. Pretty sure that would be a record.

8, they won't bat in the 9th

They will once Fox gets in the game to pitch the 8th and gives up 16 runs, leading to a 9th inning walk-off for Sori.

I'd have such crazy expectations if that happened.

So if this keeps up I'd actually be pretty ok with pulling Sean after 5/6 IP.

Like I said, I'm just worried the Pirates are taking a lot of pitches to force Gallagher to keep coming at them. Luckily, he hasn't been throwing a lot of balls. But you gotta figure the second or third time around the Pirates lineup is not going to be good once they get a good read on his pitches.
