CUBS SWEEP!!!

Now who really thought we'd sweep that series? Not me. I hope we build on this.

I actually thought we would lose yesterday, but beat Haren and Johnson.

After how bad we looked against them in both the regular season and the playoffs last year? I thought 2 out of 3 would be a big feat.

Great series. Really impressed me this weekend.

I thought we'd win the series, but not get the sweep. This was a nice.

The pen was worked hard, but Z was held over and they still won. But good job by almost all of the pitchers today. I never thought they would have gotten this game in.

Not how I expect the Cubs to score many runs this year, with the Johnson 2-R HR, and the manufactured runs that included a SB by Ramirez, a bunt single by Fukudome, and a swinging sacrifice bunt by Soto.

Didn't I hear that Woody is using a new grip on one of his pitches? Which pitch is that? Whatever changes he might have made have certainly helped. I'd prefer Marmol be our closer but as long as Kerry's doing the job --give him the ball.

Some of his pitches have that nastiness to them that he had his rookie year. That one pitch to strike out Young in the 9th the other day was eerily reminicent of the 20th strikeout pitch.

I could go with either/or but I would really like to see Kerry grow into the closer role because it's clear that, if nothing else, Marmol is comfortable in his current role. If we don't need to move him out of that comfort zone, then so much the better.

Has there been any word on what we're going to do with the rotation? Zambrano will go tomorrow, but are we going to skip Marquis or Lieber?

Either way, with us facing Wolf, Estes, Peavy, and Maddux, and the Padres struggling like they are, we should easily be able to take 3/4.
