Raining. There's hope for a washout!

If God loves the Cubs, there will be a terential downpour until morning.

Or if we're lucky, a torrential downpour.

Remind me again, what are the rules on postponing and suspending games in terms of rain?

Because if we can get this game PPD, that'd be awesome.

If it gets washed out before the Cubs finish this at-bat, it'd be a postponement.

Time for Rocket to run naked on the field and keep away from the security guards as long as possible to give the rain a chance to come.

That'll also work. Cubs just have to move very, very slowly throught the top of the 5th.

Keep fouling it off, Fontenot!

I'd just be happy for a 1 hour delay to get Volquez off the mound. Wait...Dusty's their manager. Better hope for a rainout.

Didn't Tim McCarver once say a walk was worse than a homerun?

I think his point is by walking batters you have no defense but at least throwing strikes you have one.

Not when the balls land in the stands

I think there is but I can't think of his name. It's pretty cool to see.

This guy? He was drafted but not signed last year, because he returned to Creighton for his senior year. http://www.gocreighton.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=89374&SPID=78&DB_OEM_ID=1000&ATCLID=1145518&Q_SEASON=2007

Thanks CHL.

No problem. If a switch pitcher made it to the majors, what would the rules for usage be, anyone know?

Then you shouldn't be pitching if that's the case, if that is happening too often.

I think the Reds may have a better pitching staff then ours.

Duh, we have one of our best in AAA and another one rotting away in the bullpen.

No. FJM posted a broadcast he did where he was apparently surprised that, on average, more runs scored in an inning resulting from a leadoff walk than a leadoff HR. He claimed this was "unconventional wisdom"

If Lix does something positive here, I won't say anything bad about him for at least 48 hours.

Whew, I can continue disbelieving...

Yeah, he should get a hit in every AB he takes, like the rest of the team.

Haha. You Pie, Hill lovers really go overboard sometimes. Nothing like a little exaggeration, no?

I simply said I was an unbeliever. You went off the deep end. Not like its anything new, I am used to you guys getting super testy.

I believe there are many more Pie bashers than Pie lovers. The entire team sucks right now, yet you single out Pie constantly. Then you quote yourself like somebody actually cares. Why not post the same thing about the great Reed Johnson? His .664 OPS is really something. Oh, another out by RJ.

I'm just saying, give the kid a break. He has a ton of potential and has been getting inconsistent PT. If we had a solid option in CF then I'd agree with not playing Pie right now. But because we have a guy OPSing .664 (now lower) even after a red hot start as our other option, I think we should give the kid a chance.

Oh...and Rich Hill lovers are looking pretty smart right now.
