Hopefully they're stretching Marshall out to take Lieber's spot, then Hill will take Marquis spot when he comes back.

Can't have three lefties in the rotation, dude.

Maybe they'll try to fix Hill by making him throw with his right hand and it will turn out that he's even better as a righty.

Played with a guy in HS who could throw 90+ either hand for strikes. He'd get tired, switch gloves. True story.

I could throw 90 in HS. 60 right handed 30 left.

Isn't there a pitcher in the minors right now that does that? Or is that an independent league?

LOL at Lieber. Good call Lou, good call. Its pretty funny we yank a kid in the middle of the inning for walking 4 guys, but we let the veteran get out of the inning after giving up 4 Hr's in an inning. I see the strategy now.

It's all about aesthetics and emotion. A batter hits a home run off of you, he beat you in honorable combat. You give a batter a walk, it's frustrating and dishonorable.

Why take out Theriot in the 2nd inning just to complete the freaking double switch?

Because he is not significantly better than Fontenot? Seriously...what's the big deal? I'd rather have a Cedeno (SS)/Fontenot (2B) MI than CannonArmTheriot (SS)/Cedeno (2B) MI.

I'd rather have the potential help off the bench in case the game gets close enough for it to matter. Theriot is better. He's better defensively at SS than Fotenot is at 2B. Lou is down 5 runs with 6 innings to go, and now has to catch up with a lesser offense than he started the game with....and has less flexibility now off the bench that will undoubtedly see at least a couple pinch hitters and 4-5 relievers.

So then your problem appears to be with Lou PH Fontenot in the 3rd inning rather than with the double switch. Or possibly both, I guess.

I think there is but I can't think of his name. It's pretty cool to see.

If Lix does something positive here, I won't say anything bad about him for at least 48 hours.

Whew, I can continue disbelieving...

Didn't Tim McCarver once say a walk was worse than a homerun?

I think his point is by walking batters you have no defense but at least throwing strikes you have one.

Actually, doesn't Zambrano on occasion throw left handed during warmups in the OF? Didn't he touch the high 80's/low 90's?

Yeah, he should get a hit in every AB he takes, like the rest of the team.

Pretty much both. Bottom line is the Cubs are down big, and don't have as good a lineup on the field as they did to start the game.

Haha. You Pie, Hill lovers really go overboard sometimes. Nothing like a little exaggeration, no?

I simply said I was an unbeliever. You went off the deep end. Not like its anything new, I am used to you guys getting super testy.
