Why did we hold him there?

Because it would have been stupid to send him.

That's what I was wondering. Looked like they were going to concede the run to keep the DP in order.

You never want to make the 1st out of a inning at home. With your 3-4-5 hitters coming up, down 3.

I would say because Wendell Kim is gone and we don't get baserunners thrown out at the plate by 30 feet for no reason.

a lot of soriano's ABs he has been behind 0-2, but most of the pitches have been strikes. if that's how they're approaching him he has to swing obviously, but he has to start hitting those early in the count pitches so that they can't throw him the 0-2 junkball that he'll either strike out on or roll over and ground out to third.

That last ab was a good sign though. I like seeing him hit it hard through the middle like that.

agreed. everyone is grumpy at him for getting down 0-2 every AB, but from what i've seen the last two days, a lot of the problem has been that he's missing first pitch and second pitch strikes, not that he's just hacking at complete garbage. the garbage hacks have generally been coming when he's trying to protect with two strikes.

They'll be like 3-7 in their last 10 games so yeah, I guess you're right, they'd do worse than 3rd place if they continued on that pace.

Thanks for correcting me.

well if thats the way you meant it what a whiny and obnoxious thing to say

we'll win the division by at least 5 games and the sniveling complainers such as yourself will bitch about every bad thing that happens on the way

We probably will. But what should be an 80% chance is becoming a 70% chance because of general stupidity, and if we happen to see this season fall into that last 10%, people like yourself will say it was inevitable or something.

i stand by my statements

Terrible by Lee.

It was a cutter right in the middle of the plate.

The outcome may not have been what we wanted, but Lee should definitely be allowed to swing at that pitch any time he gets it.

His hitting will come around. I know this. I am more worried that playing left field is going to get into his head. He doesn't look right at all out there at this point.

Quade needs to go. Cedeno was around 3rd before the LF even got to the ball. This is happening way too much.

Stop. If the Cubs can't score that run then this game is pretty much over anyways.

whatever the little guys do, If Lee and Fukudome cant come through, were not going to win a lot of games. Hopefully, if Fuku keeps the inning alive, Ramirez will be able to pinch hit.

It's a good thing that they've been amazing this season so far, then.

The LFer was barely deeper than the SS when he picked it up. Moises Alou throws him out at home in that situation.

And we're down three with the heart of the order coming up. NO reason to EVER send him unless the outfielder literally falls down before the ball gets to him.

morgan is whining about a play where cedeno would have been thrown out easily even if it was johnny damon in left field

You couldn't possibly be more wrong.
