I like giving Wuertz some stretch work, but when was the last time Wood pitched? Unless I missed him, hasn't it been as long as Marmol (before he pitched tonight)?

Wood pitched on Sunday. Marmol hadn't pitched since Friday.

Cedeno's WPA for the night is .000, despite the three run double and the walks in his other two plate appearances. The game was already decided long before then.

This is embarassing
and its on national television too #-o

and hopefully both demoralizing and tiring for their bullpen the rest of the week

I think Turnbow is going to get fired. Not only is he bad, he's also the lightning rod for all bullpen criticism. Milwaukee Farnsworth, if you will.

Thanks. That makes much more sense and makes me much less worried.

That is my new favorite fan graph.

Awesome.

In my mind, there's no doubt about it. That was the ugliest performance by a pitcher I've seen in awhile.

I just can't take St. Louis seriously. I'm glad they've beat the Reds the past 2 nights cause the Reds' talent makes me a bit uncomfortable. I can see them going on a crazy streak even with Dusty as the manager. The Cardinals are just completely and utterly awful...I just won't believe it.

The Cards have proven they can win in the past with less talent, where Baker has proven he can screw up a team with more talent. I am becoming more worried about them with every passing day. Still expect them to have a rough stretch soon enough though that will put them back too far.

When have the Cards won with less talent than this year's team?

Hey Turnblow, Ronny Cedeno and Daryle Ward just sent you the unemployment line.

Hey El Caballo Ronny Cedeno is better than your shortstop.

HAHA okay dude. I didnt come here to argue so I will just leave it at that.

The funny thing is that he doesn't realize that he actually is.

that is quite a stretch.

Thank You. I mean Ronny Cedeno has had a good run so far, but Hardy did it for over AT LEAST half a season.

Hardy is not a good hitter. I think 336 and over 1000 major league AB's is enough for us to make that assertion. Now, since he's only 25, I will leave room that he could have a couple of good seasons with the bat. I'm not saying Cedeno is as good as he's looked, because he's probably not.

But Hardy's MLB line is 261/320/418. He's only had one season where he finished with a 100 OPS+. Every other year, he's below average with the bat. He's talented enough to have stretches where he looks very good, but Hardy really isn't anything special.

If Cedeno makes the proper adjustments, he should hit at least as well as Hardy.

Steve Stone mentioned that pitchers are usually ahead of the hitters in April, once the weather becomes consistently warmer I believe the "magic" of Dave Duncan will wear off. Wellemeyer, Lohse, Looper will all come back down to Earth.
