Cedeno is down to a walk every 8.5 PA. How does this compare to previous years?

2005 - 17.8 PA/BB

2006 - 33.6 PA/BB

2007 - 26.7 PA/BB

Simply put, Cedeno has changed his approach significantly.

Marmol had four days off in a row, no worries.

It's so unfair to expect people to hit him.

Why is Marmol pitching in a blowout?

just to get a little work in

That is stupid.

pretty much

I like the move, he had 4 days off, he's going to have rust. He's having trouble with the zone right now, better now then in a tight game.

Marmol pitching? Why? Am I wrong?

He hasn't pitched in a few days. The Cubs would put Hart or Lieber in this spot, but they both threw 20+ pitches last night, and with both of them used to being starters the Cubs would like not to have them pitch a second game in a row after throwing that many. Either Wood or Wuertz will likely pitch the 9th.

Wouldn't pitching him yesterday in a close game make more sense?

Only if we wanted to win yesterday.

So we can't use the mop-up guys because they were busy losing in a close game last night?

The classic Cub "Our wrong move is right because our previous wrong move forced our hand" maneuver.

Lou likes to pitch him in tie games or with a lead, so that's why he didn't pitch yesterday. If the Cubs bullpen hadn't imploded last night, then Lieber wouldn't have had to pitch, and Marmol would have been able to get yet another day off tonight.

Alright... despite the complete lack of drama, I've watched the whole game up to this point. But now it's GTA4 time.

Am I crazy or did Dave O'Brien do a really good Scully impression there?

It actually was pretty good, but then he went and ruined it by doing a horrendous Harry caray impression.

The Scully was really good though.

More good Brewers defense.
