I'm not sure if the lineup is posted in that link a few posts up. Since I can't get to it, I'll assume others cannot as well.

Johnson

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Murton

DeRosa

Soto

Cedeno

Dempster

And the Pirates go like this:

McLouth

Sanchez

Bay

LaRoche

Nady

Doumit

Bautista

Bixler

Duke

I don't like being Fukudomeless, but...MURTON!!!!

I'm really confused how Murton goes from riding the bench behind DeRosa/Cedeno (more or less), and then a last minute injury comes up and Lou bats him in front of both of them.

Not complaining, but still...I figure it's got to say something about how little Lou thinks of Murton's defense?

An all righty attack.

that's still less confusing than Matt Kemp sitting for Juan Pierre half of the time and hitting 3rd in the lineup the other half.

As someone pointed out in today's game thread, Lou said he was going with the same lineup tomorrow. So as much sense as it may make to get Murton in or get Theriot/Cedeno out, it ain't happening.

What's the point of even calling up the poor ole' adorable Red head?

Wait a minute....Marissa Miller was in town, and Murton is in town....maybe the Cubs were trying to set the young man up, as an apologize for treating him so bad as a player? :-k

With that said......trade "The Murton" before you kill all of his value. Dang.

Why does it make sense to take Theriot out? He has a six-game hitting streak (11-for-26). He's hit safely in 12 of 16 games. He's batting .302/.371/.429. Granted, those numbers probably won't hold up, but why not ride it? Theriot is the Cubs' shortstop until further notice. When he shows he can't do it or when he slumps, Piniella will move him down in the order or sit him for a few games. Right now, he's not hurting this club one bit.

Don't know if you got the memo Bruce, but you aren't supposed to defend Theriot or even like him on this board. Even if he is hot and will likely return to sub-average at some point.

I was going to ask if you are still around, what if anything, have you heard on Sori's calf?

I think we'll know more on the next road trip about the calf. Right now, he's doing some light work, and the Cubs are still saying he'll need only the 15 days.

On Theriot, I just think you've got to be fair about things.

Yesterday I hated that lineup. Today, no changes except Murton for Fukudome and I now love the lineup - and Murton really isn't a big part of it.

Weird.

Murton in LF and DeRo in RF, by the way.

A few comments.

-Lee is locked in. I know he leads the world in HRs, but yesterday, he clearly was looking 1st pitch breaking ball from Gorzo and cranked it. IF anyone noticed, he just missed a fastball (fouled it back) to lead off the 2nd AB. That's just being tuned in to what a pitcher is trying to do to you.

-I love this team's patience. I was completely expecting the team to go up hacking when Yates couldn't find the zone. The patience of the new additions is the story of the season so far, IMO. Soto, Fukudome, and Johnson are consistently getting great ABs. Cedeno has also really looks patient. DeRosa right now is the perfect mix of patience and agressiveness.

-As was pointed out earlier, beating the bad teams is a nice change, especially because most of the NL is bad teams.

- If you can sweep 2 series without Zambrano touching the mound, that is an accomplishment.

I agree Bruce. No matter what he does people here are still going to bash him. I don't understand it.

Some tool just banned me because I made him look like an idiot on that website.

Why would you want to make someone look like an idiot? You were probably banned for good reason.

This newfound Cubbie patience is freaking me out.....in a good way.

Anybody else having issues with the WGN braodcast? I'm getting a lot of picture jumping and sound interruptions.
