i dont know about you guys, but i just couldnt get too excited about his homer. i still remember what a couple of bombs can do to our country

what!!! You still haven't let WWII go?

Hey, he's doing better than me. I still haven't let the Civil War go. I refuse to go the South, no matter what.

I refuse to set foot in Canada after the atrocities they committed in The War of 1812.

Less inability to detect sarcasm/FJM posts, more Kosuke appreciation!

So did anyone save the video of the Musberger call yesterday? I know it was on YouTube but I didn't get a chance to save it and now it's gone I believe. If anyone could sendspace it or something like that it'd be great, thanks!

Meh, you're not missing much. "Deep drive!... right center field!... they've tied it!" The only good line was "a star is born in the teeth of the Lake Michigan wind!" Cubs.com has the video with Pat and Ron's call; just mute that and imagine the aforementioned in Musberger's aging voice.

Yeah I heard it. I liked it, so I wanted to save a copy of it since I knew I wouldn't find it on Cubs.com or YouTube

Leaving all the beer for me....sucker!

Thread needed bumping after the game he had today. 2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R (including a bunt single that was so textbook that it actually made me laugh in its awesomeness) and a sweet catch of a liner ticketed for the gap.

not only is he a very good player but he is a very smart player. his "error" was a good throw and he got screwed when weeks ran over soto; his caught stealing was very good instincts but bad luck that the would-be WP happened to bounce off the batter. he really knows how to work the count and foul off tough pitches until he gets one to hit. we have had a lot of stupid players/hitters on this team - barrett, jock and soriano spring to mind - so it's nice to see a guy who plays with his head not in his rear end.

He's only been with us for 5 official games, but he's probably my favorite player. He plays hard, he plays smart, he's fundamentally sound, he has a cannon for an arm, he's a tough out, he's got some pop in his bat, and dammit, he's clutch!

Some of the struggling bats should watch tape of how Fukudome approaches his AB's. They'd learn something.

Yeah, he is so amazingly patient. He's exactly what the Cubs have needed for years now.

I'm sure it's going to happen, but with how fundamentally sound his approach at the plate is, it's hard to imagine him having any true slumps this year. H

I have seen more people not detect sarcasm in a post than in the last couple of months

Emoticons or links are very helpful to relay sarcasm. Without knowing about the firejoemorgan.com content, that post about mistrusting the Japanese seemed all too real. Maybe it's because blatant ignorance and racism are actually present throughout society. Unfortunately, I'm too used to hearing terms like "Japs" without seeing people bat an eye.

Your point would be well-taken if not for the fact that it would be much easier to count IMB's sincere posts than his insincere ones.

Yes, I would have to agree. He's got such a great plate approach too.

0-3 with a strikeout with runners on base. this contract can't expire soon enough.

Now batting an anemic .421. Worthless.

All this guy does is get on base somehow.

Give me 8 Fukudomes and I'll win you a World Series.

With that arm, give me 25 Fukudomes. I'm sure he would pitch well.

There is quite literally nothing this guy can't do.

DLee and Fukudome could end up fighting for the MVP award if this crazy-good play keeps up.
