I'm not sure why one of the previous four threads with links to these calls hasn't been stickied yet. This will never get old.

I <3 Ron Santo.

easily the best game of the season last year. i was in a hotel room in Cleveland watching on WGN just before heading to Jacobs Field. the kids were taking a nap and it was all i could do to keep from running around screaming

i was home alone with just the dogs...man...i jumped incredibly high in the air and proceeded to run into the kitchen then back to the living room then back and forth and back and forth and back and forth all the while screaming so loudly that my throat was hoarse for the rest of the day!!!

i actually got tears in my eyes just listening to those calls again...

shhh..don't make fun

I was at the Soriano walkoff two days earlier. I didn't think anything could ever top that. Just wish I was at this one too, because I had tickets and couldn't make it.

even though he's gone and the season was a horrific disaster, this is my favorite "in the stands" video from the cubs ever. it's so perfect how the crowd explodes with the crack of the bat. i get goosebumps every time i watch it.

That was the best moment I've had at a sporting even until.... last September when the Cubs entered the 9th down by 2 to the Reds and Aramis Ramirez roped that game tying double followed by Mark DeRosa's game winning single. I think the Barrett moment was cooler, but the situation behind the Reds game was a lot more dramatic. The Cubs entered the day 1 game up on the Brewers, and at the time of the 9th inning, the Brewers had already won. What a feeling.

That's from mlb.com, with video. I'm not sure if you need to be a subscriber or not.

Something's totally messed up with your link, but I can't tell what.

It's javascript, not a URL.

the most enthusiastic i've ever seen fans at any live sporting event.

I was at the 9th inning comeback vs. the reds in sept where Ramirez had that late double or triple and DeRosa ended up driving in the winning run on a squibber between the pitcher and the 2b...

That was insane. I've never seen fans so jacked up.

Oh, and as for where We were the day this happened. I was at work and watching on Gameday. I turned it off when we went down 5-0. Then when I got in my car leaving work it was 5-3 so I decided to listen on my way home. I was backing my car into my driveway when Ramirez hit that shot and I'm pretty sure I about broke my brakes because I stomped on them so hard.

I watched the entire game, but spent a lot of it bitching to a friend of mine that the Cubs were going to blow their last chance to get into the divisional race and the season was over and blah blah blah. When Ramirez hit the homer, I went completely insane, and she still hasn't let me forget that I basically threw in the towel on the season before that happened.

I was at home with my brother, who also likes the Cubs but not nearly as much, we watched that entire game and it was totally worth it for that 9th inning, we both jumped up and started running around the house, screaming.

I was in class and got to listen to the 4th-6th innings on gameday audio, and I was swearing at anyone who came in the room. Then lunch was over and I had to revert back to refreshing the game thread to keep up. Lee hit the sac fly to bring it to within 1. I was refreshing furiously, and this is how it went down in my world. No Ron, no pubescent screaming Len, but I still had to excuse myself from the room and run laps around the hallways for a while.
