I'm not afraid to admit that I'd be very angry if the Sox snatched him away and I had to watch him play across town (not to mention hearing about how they one upped the Cubs every 5 minutes)
Unless, of course, they grossly overpaid for him and he emerged an enormous flop. Of course, we have the same risk...

I'm half-surprised no one has been confused by the wording of the thread title... Fukudome coming to US? us? as in we, the cubs?

 

obviously, most people were following the thread daily (errr, hourly) and understood the meaning of "officially" but still... :)

LOL, the wording has increased my blood pressure on more than one occasion today. I got really excited when I first read it this morning.

If so, I wonder if Ichiro shared his feelings on Wrigley Field.

 

[i'm reminded of a stadium I played in while growing up in Japan], it had a similar smell of fresh garbage.

So we better know by the end of Tuesday. I'm hoping his signing (here or elsewhere) will speed up everything else they do this offseason.

sorry about the thread title confusion guys

 

It was originally "U.S." but when the mods added "agent denies report" the took out the .'s and I never put them back.

 

lol, i was just kidding you. i'm not sure anyone was even actually confused. i just thought it looked a little funny when it finally hit me what it technically said. :)

While that was a def. bomb, look at that pitch, inside FB tailing out over the plate when he's ahead in the count. It doesn't tell you much about his raw power.

 

Now, if he's behind in the count and that was a tailing change-up out over the outer 3rd.

The consensus seems to be that Fukudome's decision will be announced on Tuesday in Japan. Japan, or at least Tokyo is 16 hours ahead of Central time, so just as it was about midnight Saturday night (into Sunday morning) that we got word of his declaration that he'll play in America next season, I expect it'll be late Monday night into early Tuesday morning that we hear any announcements made.

There is an article where someone writes he will decide by tuesday japan time. But none of us are trusting it since we've been told "by tuesday, within 48 hours, by tonite". So I think none of us are expecting it at any particular time, anymore.
