At least U of I isnt just a one hit wonder. Maybe you guys can make another non bcs bowl in 10 years or so.

 

Haha, clearly the Illini are destined to be a perennial Rose Bowl selection, what with them doubling their previous 2 year's win total. Maybe next year you can keep from falling down by 4 TDs so the "we should've won" excuses don't sound worse than Notre Dame/USC circa 2005.

I'm offended by this. :wink:

 

I'm loving this, BTW, keep it going. Hilarity on both ends.

Missouri definitely got screwed. But if there's one team who I don't mind getting screwed over is Missouri. I lived in St. Louis for ten years and all the Tiger fans I knew then you'd swear that Missouri won every Big 8/Big 12 football and basketball championship. My guess is the Orange Bowl came down to politics. If Alden is still the AD, maybe Tiger fans need to ask what kind of relationship does he have or not have with the Orange Bowl? Maybe the Orange Bowl got scared off by the #1 team losing by 21 points on a neutral site. Bottom line is all Big 12 schools will share in the $17 million payout whether it is Missouri or KU playing.

It isn't. It used to be a major bowl before the BCS, but was left out of the BCS (I believe because they weren't willing to pay out enough). The BCS bowls are the Rose, Orange, Fiesta, and Sugar Bowls, and the BCS championship game (which rotates among the sites of the other BCS games).

I'm not going to LA to watch the Illini get killed by USC. Even though I've go connections out there: I'm not going. The opening line is USC by 14.

I'm not going because it's going to be basicly a home game for USC. Plus I know some people with a lot more money than me willing to buy my tickets.

the illini will be just fine. they went into a bigger stadium filled with nearly 20,000 more hostile fans and beat the #1 team in the nation, and that means that they were #1 then and #1 now, for people who want to pick apart the illini's schedule.

 

likely, they'll be #1 when all is said and done, as well.
