I'm late to this thread since I've been at work. How much hell would be raised if Georgia makes the NC over LSU?

Not anything that hasn't been heard before when other teams have done the same thing. Personally, I don't really care about the conference champion label. LSU had 2 conference losses, Georgia had 2 conference losses. The fact that LSU played in the easier division doesn't mean in my mind that they should be given more consideration. Now if you say that LSU had the better resume, that is a different story, but I'm not sure that can be proven.

Yes, but the implications are nightmarish when a conf champion with the same # of losses is locked out over a team that didn't even make it to the conf championship game. That pretty much says that the conference system itself is bunk, and when we're talking about the BCS, I'm much more inclined to think it's the BCS that is bunk, not the conferences.

Both teams have two losses. LSU's were a combined 8 points and took 6 OT's for both to occur. Georgia's two losses were a combined 25 points. One was a blow-out to Tennessee.

Yes, LSU had some close wins, but LSU also has the blow-out over VaTech.

BCS hell would be LSU winning the Sugar, USC winning the Rose, OU winning the Fiesta, WVU winning the Orange, and Georgia winning the BCS championship game. All that happens, THEN who is the best team? Edited by bukie

Shoulda scheduled UCLA if you wanted an easy win against a Pac-10 team, Hawaii.

The coaches would crown Georgia as they are contractually obligated to do that. The AP could do something different, however.

Stupid Hawaii. The good thing is it's early.

And the day wasn't a total loss for SIU as we advance to the I-AA version of the Final Four with a 34-27 win over UMass. Another home game next Friday night against Delaware with a trip to the National Title on the line.

Too bad ASU won. Would have been interesting had they lost. Illinois may have made a BCS game.

I think they may only move up to 13 if Hawai'i loses.

How far down do you think Missouri drops with their lose to OU? I can't imagine them dropping out of the top 10.

LSU-USC.....that's what I want to see.

You may get a chance to see them in the Rose Bowl since Ohio State looks to be back in the BCS championship game.

How much longer can the BCS completely screw things up before we finally get some sort of playoff system?

This year is a perfect example of why the BCS is crap.

3. If a bowl loses a host team to the NCG, then such bowl shall select a replacement team from among the automatic-qualifying teams and the at-large teams before any other selections are made. If two bowls lose host teams to the NCG, each bowl will get a replacement pick before any other selections are made. In such case, the bowl losing the No. 1 team gets the first replacement pick, and the bowl losing the No. 2 team gets the second replacement pick. If the Rose Bowl loses both the Big Ten and Pac-10 champions to the NCG, it will receive two replacement picks.

A bowl choosing a replacement team may not select any of the following:

A. A team in the NCG;

B. The host team for another BCS Bowl;

C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same Conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents.

The way this reads, if LSU ends up playing Ohio State then the Rose Bowl would only be able to accept Georgia if the Sugar Bowl consents. So why would the Sugar Bowl consent to giving up Georgia?

Hawaii's offense is actually on the move without fumbling.
