Apparently the Big Ten had an officiating crew do the Ohio State/Illinois game despite a planned suspension of the crew following their work on the Purdue/Penn State game: Link

 

What happened during the Penn St/Purdue game? I havent heard anything controversial from that game.

 

they were going to suspend them for THAT? pretty lame. The biggest issue in that game was a play where the Purdue player got out of bounds late in the 4th quarter, but the official called him in bounds, and Purdue was forced to use a timeout.

 

The officiating wasn't perfect in that game, but I've seen some Big Ten officiating in the past five years that was mind-boggling in how bad it was. The conference picks the Penn State-Purdue game as the game that merits suspension of an officiating crew? What a joke.

 

I was watching that game with a Purdue fan and he was all like "Penn State gets all the calls at home, this is a joke! Paterno works the grease on the officials! Purdue is a step child of the big ten! And im like, dude tell me about teams getting all the calls, ive heard that before." Alright...there is my zing, all in good fun. :wink:

 

Anyway that call sucked but yes its weird that whole crew would be supsended, i dont remember anything else suspicious.

 

OSU needed to run the table for their NCG i dont care when they lost. A one loss B12 team plays no matter what (one of them has to beat the other 2 at some time right). LSU plays without another loss. Oregon is the one looking in.

Anyways, all this talk about LSU is unnecessary, they're gonna lose another game and only West Virginia will be complaining when it's an all OU championship.

There's still time. It's interesting to watch yet another team climb the standings and then struggle though. Been happening all year long. I love this CFB season.

Oregon's getting drilled. 30-11 Arizona with the PAT pending. This is reminiscent of the beatdown Arizona gave UCLA a couple years ago.

Could this be the year that a team with 2 losses could win the national title?

 

There are 8 teams currently at the top of the BCS standings with 1 loss.

 

At least 2 of them will be knocked out in the Big 12 scramble.

 

Oregon could go down tonight.

 

That leaves LSU, West Virginia, Ohio State, Arizona State, and that remaining Big 12 team for 2 spots. 4 of those teams could conceivably lose making a 1 loss team and a 2 loss team playing for the national title. Also, if it does come down to 2 loss teams there are going to be a million of them that want their shot.

Ryan Leaf is an assistant coach at a college that plays a school in our coverage area, here. He came up to the pressbox post game one day, and all I could think about was how badly I wanted to yell "KNOCK IT OFF, ALRIGHT?"

Barring anything drastic, this is the absolute truth. Hopefully Chase can play well enough in these next two games to get himself an invite.
