I am incredibly psyched up for this ND/Marquette game. With @UConn and a home date with Pitt as 2 of the next 3 games after this, it'd be big to get this one. Let's make it 34 in a row at the Joyce.

I like ND, but I couldn't help rooting for Marquette there. I just still can't believe Zeller got Mr. Basketball over James, and for some reason that makes me dislike Zeller. I'm not saying it makes sense, just the way it is.

Forget James, Josh McRoberts was in that class too.

ND scared the crap out of me with late turnovers but they held off Marquette 86-83. 18 and 11 for Harangody, and seven guys scored at least seven points. A total team effort today to make it 34 in a row in the Joyce. ND should shoot into Top 15-ish territory on Monday.

James was the best high school senior in that class.

Yeah, I would definitely put James ahead of McRoberts. I want to put Holsinger at #2 since I went to school with him from 4th-12th grade and he's a really good guy, but I'll try to restrain my bias and go James, McRoberts, Zeller, Holsinger.

Didn't see the game, but seriously? 31 freethrows from ND to 8? 22 fouls to 12.

no wonder they have a long home winning streak

Marquette did nothing but chuck treys all game long, and when they did go inside we had defensive breakdowns and had no one to stop them. It wasn't a very physical game on our end at all.

really? because the box score says that Notre Dame took 23 threes, and Marquette took 25.... plus Marquette had 73 shots from the field compared to just 60 for Notre Dame.

Again turnovers doom Iowa. 22 today against Minnesota. Completely killed on the boards for the first time in a long time also. Probably the worst we've played since at IU. Fortunately we were red hot from the field for the first 30 minutes.

Had the lead midway through the second half and then Minnesota went on a 22-8 run to close the game.

We just need our guards to get a year older with another year in the system and get a few of the freshman in here. The system works when we don't play dumb. It's amazing how many open looks we can get for our shooters even without good PG play or a post presence.

I watched the game, and I'd like to think I'm fair enough that I'd know if we'd caught a break. I didn't keep count but we probably got away with 2-4 fouls that I would've whistled, while Marquette got away with a couple of travels. Marquette had more shots because we tried to play keep-away at the end and because we had more turnovers.

HAHAHAHAHAH. Timmy Floyd lost it (again). He stalked the referees all the way across the court to yell at them. Got a T. Came back to his coach's box. And then went to yell at the refs some more and got a second T. Nothing like seeing OJ Mayo having to hold his coach back from the ref.

Arkansas-Ole Miss is getting crazy. 3 point game in favor or Arkansas with less than a minute to go.

And about when I hit "submit," it stopped being crazy. Arkansas has it put away now with a 75-69 final.. 4 game winning streak and 17-5 with a huge game against Tennessee coming up on Wednesday. A win would be enormous for the Hogs.

Sonny Weems has been outrageous lately. I guess he's campaigning for NBA consideration. Since the new year, Weems is averaging 19.7 PPG, 5.6 RPG ans 2.8 APG while shooting 49.7% from the field, 48.2% from 3, and 83.3% from the line. He's an athletic swingman at 6-6 and shoul get some serious looks in the pros if he keeps this up.

Purdue is off to a strong start in Madison. 19-10 lead. If they can sweep the Badgers, look out! It would be awesome to see Purdue and Indiana meet as the only one loss teams in the Big Ten.

Purdue is outplaying Wisconsin big time.

refs are awful but purdue is playing well

When discussing Big Ten basketball the bolded doesnt need to be said. All Big Ten fans already know it

I'm a little late with this, but ISU blew a 13 point lead in the 2nd half and lost to Texas in OT 71-65. AJ Abrams had 25 and hit some big 3's down the stretch to get the Longhorns back in the game. ISU had their chances down the stretch, but once Texas focused on Hubalek (24 points, 9 boards) late in the 2nd half ISU started relying on the three, which is bad for a team who went 6-27 today and shoots 30.7% on the season. It almost felt like a replay of the Kansas game in Ames last year, though today was much better than the effort against Texas A&M and in the 2nd half of the Nebraska game.

Huge win by Louisville over Georgetown. ND now tied with the Hoyas in the loss column (though GTown owns the tiebreaker having beaten the Irish). The UConn and Louisville games are going to be tremendous.

It is at this point that I submit that I was shredded for even suggesting a possibility that Purdue was the best team in the Big Ten - and now they're 10-1 and a game or more up on everybody.
